Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to serve as the senior technical leader and trusted advisor to customer leadership, providing strategic technical guidance while ensuring successful execution of operational and modernization initiatives.  This role requires the ability to operate at both the strategic and technical levels, including hands-on engineering engagement to validate approaches, reduce risk, accelerate decision-making, and demonstrate technical solutions. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across enterprise operations, modernization efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Serve as primary technical advisor to customer leadership.

  • Develop and maintain technical strategy and roadmap.

  • Lead architectural reviews and technical decision-making activities.

  • Evaluate and recommend technologies that improve reliability, security, scalability, and operational efficiency.

  • Assess technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Drive modernization and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Validate technical approaches through hands-on analysis, proof-of-concept activities, and engineering reviews.

  • Collaborate with operational teams to improve technical execution and service delivery.

  • Lead root cause analysis efforts for complex technical issues.

  • Mentor technical staff and promote technical excellence across the program.

  • Partner with customer stakeholders to align technology investments with mission objectives.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Experience may be substituted for education.

  • Minimum 10 years of enterprise IT engineering and architecture experience.

  • Strong understanding of:

  • Enterprise infrastructure

  • Systems integration

  • Security and compliance

  • Cloud and hybrid architecture

  • Experience evaluating technical risks and developing strategic solutions.

  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Azure or AWS Solution Architect

  • Active CISSP or CSSIP

  • Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator

  • Experience leading modernization initiatives.

  • Enterprise architecture framework experience.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $165,750 - $224,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
