Job Description

Service Delivery Director- DC Metro Area

 

Serves as Technical Service Delivery Director within a dynamic and growing portfolio of programs within GDIT’s Federal Civilian division. Works in a fast-paced environment with a world class team applying emerging technologies for critical customer challenges. Provides support for successful execution, organic growth, strong service delivery within the portfolio. Demonstrated experience leading multiple teams and a track record for growth.

 

Key Responsibilities and Skills include:

  • Strong technical skills in cloud, IT modernization, application development, and emerging technologies
  • Supports multiple teams and provides technical program delivery guidance for the successful execution of contractual requirements
  • Supervises assigned technical and administrative staff, including subordinate managers, and performs personnel actions including hiring and performance evaluations
  • Directs program activities to meet client and organization work objectives and serves as a liaison with clients to coordinate activities, negotiate tasks, solve problems, and execute in alignment with the Contract, PWS, PMP, QASP, etc.
  • Assures quality of program products, services, and deliverables, including participating in reviews, audits, and site visits
  • Works directly with the portfolio Vice President to ensure programs are delivering on client objectives and maintaining high CPARs
  • Coordinates and monitors sub-contractor activities and administers subcontractor deliverables
  • Develops, reviews, and approves plans, schedules, consulting agreements and other program documents
  • Prepares and provides various reports and technical reviews to senior management as requested
  • Facilitates Innovation sessions for programs, customers and senior leaders
  • Ensures compliance with relevant corporate and government policies and standards
  • Acts as a mentor and coach in order to build and maintain high performing teams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-value, high‑complexity programs with P&L responsibility (aligned to Program Execution Senior Director expectations)
  • Proven experience establishing KPIs, dashboards, governance routines, and delivery performance mechanisms (from Program Execution frameworks)
  • Experience leading modernization in multi-domain environments (cloud, data, cybersecurity, automation, DevSecOps)
  • Ability to influence senior executives, shape growth strategy, and identify new business opportunities within existing customer portfolios
  • Experience ensuring compliance with federal standards such as FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST 800-53, Zero Trust, or enterprise governance processes

 

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or related field undefined

Experience:

  • 20+ years’ experience strongly preferred, in leadership roles or related technical experience leading large teams
  • Prior experience within or supporting agencies such as DOC, DOL, DOI, DOE and FCC
  • Experience leading programs with revenues $50M+ or managing multiple programs
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing modernization programs and multi-team cross-functional delivery (cloud, cyber, data, infrastructure, mission systems) 

Certifications:

  • PMP (highly preferred)
  • SAFe Agilist or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC)
  • AWS, Azure, or multi-cloud certifications (highly preferred)
  • CISSP or CCSP (desired but not required)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt (preferred)
  • FAC-P/PM or DAWIA Program Management Level III (desired but not required)

Skills:

  • A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks along with an ability to offer and implement solutions to address them
  • Technical acumen in cloud, IT modernization, application development and emerging technologies
  • Demonstrated experience bringing innovative IT solutions and ideas to customer missions, resulting in effective program execution and organic growth
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Strong leadership, business acumen, people management and proactive customer service skills

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $191,250 - $258,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
