Job Description

DATA ENGINEERING LEAD

Own your opportunity to turn data into measurable outcomes for our customers’ most complex challenges. As a Data Engineering Lead at GDIT, you’ll power innovation to drive mission impact and grow your expertise to power your career forward.

As a Data Engineering Lead, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a CMS cloud solution for analyzing large datasets for analytical requests and research studies.

● Lead operations and maintenance of CMS cloud infrastructure enabling data access and capacity to perform sophisticated analytics, data linkage, data ingestion, and dissemination of research extracts from complex data structures.

● Manage infrastructure and operations teams responsible for performing engineering work associated with the design, development, maintenance, and testing of infrastructures for data generation as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams.

● Stays well-informed of industry best practices and trends for enhancements and innovations.

● Lead infrastructure planning and development enhancements.
● Reviews and prioritizes needs and analyzes project costs and feasibility.

● Serves as primary point of contact for client regarding infrastructure and technical components.
● Drives operations and innovation to resolve emerging needs or technical challenges.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Experience: Bachelors Degree in related field.

  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Knowledge of government cloud solutions, infrastructure development, and extensive experience with storing, processing, and analyzing large federal datasets; data security; health services research and data use; Federal Government contract experience preferred.

Technical skills:

  • AWS government cloud infrastructure; data linkage and acquisition; data transfer/sharing tools (AWS, Snowflake, PPRL); ETL pipelines; large-scale data warehousing solutions; FISMA and other government security requirements

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $170,000 - $230,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
