MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT  
As a Linux Administrator, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the customer’s mission, your duties will include: 

• Install, configure, harden, and maintain Linux-based servers and services in production and non-production environments. 

• Proactively monitor system performance and availability, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure reliability, scalability, and optimal performance. 

• Execute regular system updates, patch management, and security configurations in alignment with organizational and industry best practices. 

• Use scripts and standard automation tools to streamline and improve routine administrative tasks. 

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues impacting Linux systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed. 

• Apply, maintain, and enhance Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) solutions using industry-standard tools and methodologies. 

• Maintain and support CI/CD pipelines to streamline application deployment, configuration management, and environment consistency. 

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date system documentation, including configurations, change records, and standard operating procedures. 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED  
Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Linux Administrator must have:  

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Linux System Administrator in enterprise or production environments. 

• Strong practical knowledge of major Linux distributions and their administration. 

• Proficiency in scripting for automating routine system administration tasks. 

• Familiarity with containerization platforms from an operations and support perspective. 

• Exposure to DevSecOps concepts and tools, with an understanding of secure software delivery and operational practices. 

• Experience administering environments that leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) tools. 

• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSH), and core services in a Linux ecosystem.

• Required: US Citizenship  
• Required: DoD 8140 IAT II compliant
