Job Description

GDIT is seeking a Project & Operations Manager to lead planning and execution for coalition networks while overseeing daily operational activities across the Western Pacific. This role combines structured project management with real‑time operational oversight to ensure mission partner environments remain stable, secure, and aligned with PACOM priorities.


The candidate will manage network divestiture timelines, coordinate technical and mission‑partner activities, and maintain synchronized operations across systems, networks, service delivery, field support, and operational governance.

Key responsibilities include project planning, operational leadership, stakeholder engagement, and coordination across engineering, cyber, logistics, and customer communities within a geographically dispersed environment.



MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

  • Develop, manage, and maintain comprehensive project plans, integrated schedules, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies supporting coalition network divestiture and PMN transition activities.
  • Coordinate technical teams, mission partners, engineers, cyber personnel, and external stakeholders to ensure project execution remains aligned with scope, timeline, and operational constraints.
  • Manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and decisions; drive mitigation plans and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Track progress, resourcing requirements, and action items; provide clear, consistent status reporting to leadership and customer stakeholders.
  • Support change control, implementation planning, operational readiness reviews, and synchronization with ongoing mission operations.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings, transition documentation, technical governance materials, and customer‑facing written products.
  • Lead project closeout, transitions, and lessons learned to improve future divestiture or fielding initiatives.

Operations Management (Western Pacific PMN Support)

  • Oversee daily operational performance across the Western Pacific, ensuring stable and mission‑focused delivery of PMN systems, networks, field services, and support functions.
  • Manage incident response, service restoration efforts, operational communications, and escalation workflows.
  • Monitor service metrics, operational backlogs, recurring issues, customer needs, and risk indicators; direct corrective or preventive actions.
  • Coordinate with program leadership, engineering, cybersecurity, logistics, and field support teams to maintain mission readiness and ensure continuity of operations during CENTRIXS divestiture transitions.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures, reporting cadences, continuity plans, and surge or contingency support strategies.
  • Lead continual improvement efforts, including problem management follow‑up, trend analysis, and the reduction of repeat outages across PMN service areas.
  • Provide leadership‑level operational updates, assessments, and recommendations to synchronize field operations with enterprise‑level priorities.


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Education: Master's Degree
  • Experience: 8+ years working as an IT Project Manager in similar environment
  • Current DoW 8140/8570‑aligned certification(s) applicable to project management, cybersecurity, or operational support.
  • Demonstrated experience operating in classified/unclassified DoD environments and supporting secure mission systems.
  • Knowledge of DoD STIGs, RMF, change control processes, documentation discipline, and operational IT support procedures.
  • Experience managing IT, cyber, infrastructure, or network transition projects in enterprise or DoD environments.

Desired Skills

  • Experience supporting USINDOPACOM, mission partner networks, or geographically distributed operations.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or comparable ITSM platforms used for incident, change, request, knowledge, and configuration management.
  • Understanding of Zero Trust concepts, multi‑domain security operations, and Cross Domain Solutions (CDS).
  • Experience leading integrated operations or service assurance functions within defense or enterprise IT.
  • Background in major incident management, ITIL practices, and operational reporting.
  • PMP, Agile, ITIL, or equivalent certification(s).

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $136,000 - $184,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
