Job Description

GDIT is seeking a Organizational Change SME and Enterprise Priorities Program Advisor with subject matter expertise at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to support the critical mission of the VA. This role provides a unique opportunity to support our VA customers to ensure the excellent performance of our diverse IT mission; partner with business and enterprise solution teams to analyze and advise VA stakeholders; and ensure we retain and attract exceptional talent.  As the advisor for this business, you will set strategic direction while aligning with the broader business area, sector and division strategies to ensure we exceed the needs and expectations of our customers, employees, and business.

GDIT is one of the largest IT services providers serving the U.S. government.  We are a leader in providing cloud, cyber, data & analytics, enterprise IT, application, and mission services to our customers.  This position provides an outstanding opportunity to play a leadership role as we work together to apply the breadth of resources available in our organization to critical technology and mission challenges across VA.

This position is a hybrid at the customer office in downtown Washington DC; GDIT's headquarters at Falls Church, VA, and remote from home.  Candidate must be willing and able to travel up to 25% to customer and senior leadership meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive program and enterprise project management, guidance, and subject matter expertise in direct support of VA technology executive oversight of enterprise priorities.

  • Serve as the connective layer between strategic intent and execution — driving cross-organizational analysis and design initiatives, standing up proofs of concept, and coordinating enterprise-level services across multiple stakeholder groups.

  • Lead planning and execution of enterprise-level programs spanning multiple business units or organizational components

  • Advise executive leadership on status, risk, and strategic alignment of priority initiatives; prepare executive-level briefings and decision materials

  • Facilitate cross-organizational analysis, communication, and design sessions to define requirements, processes, and target-state approaches for enterprise initiatives

  • Attend on-site program related meetings, up to two (2) per month at various VA Medical Center locations.

  • Generate Enterprise Monthly Status Reports and recommend improvement options, based on operational analytics and observations, to be provided on a regular basis (i.e., weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly timeframes).

  • Design and oversee proof-of-concept efforts to validate new approaches, tools, or technologies before broader adoption

  • Coordinate dependencies and integration points across enterprise services, ensuring alignment between technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership priorities

  • Apply subject matter expertise to inform program decisions and reduce delivery risk

  • Stand up and refine repeatable processes for enterprise initiative tracking and reporting

  • Provides strategic support, leadership, and cost-benefit value analysis of VA enterprise technology opportunities

  • Ensure that deliverables on a program align with the agency’s priorities and GDIT’s processes

What You’ll Need to Succeed (required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, science, or related discipline.

  • 15+ years of experience in program management, communications, and/or senior leadership roles, including enterprise-scale or multi-stakeholder initiatives

  • Strong facilitation skills for cross-functional/cross-organizational working sessions

  • Experience standing up proofs of concept or pilot initiatives

  • Experience developing executive guidance with a focus on achieving business objectives. Experience effectively engaging and communicating with executive and senior leadership, to include customer and board-level briefings.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting executive leadership directly. Recognized expert and leader in the marketplace with extensive knowledge of the VA mission, including technology challenges/opportunities.

  • Ability to coordinate, manage, and supervise the activities related to the VA Account operations and strategy.

  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, growth-focused environment.

  • Ability to motivate teams to perform exceptionally over long stretches of time and in challenging situations.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with enterprise architecture, modernization, or digital transformation initiatives

  • Familiarity with both agile and traditional program governance approaches

  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant VA regulations and standards.
