Job Description

Please take this opportunity to join one of GDIT’s fastest growing and long-standing programs!  US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System Extended (US BICES-X) is a cutting-edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team.  This position affords the opportunity to mentor others and grow professionally both on your own and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems while under the supervision of Senior Systems and Network Engineers.
  • Maintain the integrity and security of systems while under the supervision of Senior Systems and Network Engineers.
  • As required, support users with completing requests for deployment of new services.
  • Maintains system documentation.
  • Provides desk side support to users and evaluates vendor products.
  • Develop recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinate installation and provide backup recovery while under the supervision of Senior Systems and Network Engineers.
  • Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources while under the supervision of Senior Systems and Network Engineers.
  • May program in an administrative language.
  • Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
  • Provides advice and training to end-users. 
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned. 
  • Participates in special projects as required.
  • Adheres to the principles, methods, and techniques used in network administration and support.
  • Maintains/enhances knowledge of related hardware and software.
  • May require professional certification in one or more specific technologies, depending on job assignment.
  • Will occasionally be required to perform networks, DTS, information assurance and logistics duties.
  • May be required to work outside of “normal” work hours to include weekends and holidays.
  • May be required to support operations in austere and/or remote locations.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience required.
  • BA/BS degree – may substitute additional years of experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI Clearance. 
  • Must meet DoD 8570 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II (Security+ or equivalent) access.
  • Must have solid understanding of common IT infrastructure services to include DNS, DHCP, VoIP, and methodologies for troubleshooting connectivity issues.
  • Must speak conversational Spanish
  • Must have a valid passport for OCONUS travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting multinational customers preferred.
  • Experience with Group Policy and Windows PowerShell preferred.
  • Experience with Multiple OS’ and Scripting Languages preferred.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, SCSM, SCCM, Exchange, and IDPA technologies preferred.
  • Experience with VMWare, Horizon View, and other virtualization technologies preferred.
  • Experience with user, administrative and service account creation and management.
  • Experience with direct customer support for both internal and external customers.
  • Experience with Server STIGs, patching, and IAVA vulnerabilities.
  • Experience with the principles, methods, and techniques used in administration, troubleshooting and support of Microsoft Server versions 2008 to 2022.
  • Experience with implementing and maintaining systems documentation.
  • Experience with managing, monitoring and responding to key server infrastructure alerts.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $93,500 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
