MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Test Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USPS. You will play a crucial role in optimizing the business functions at USPS. We are seeking an experienced Test Engineer to join our team. This candidate will play a critical role in developing and maintaining robust test automation frameworks to support the testing and deployment of USPS software applications. The Test Engineer will design, implement, and execute automated test scripts, ensuring high-quality deliverables across key business systems. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify test cases, troubleshoot issues, and align with USPS policies and delivery frameworks, ensuring compliance and excellence in achieving the mission objectives.

Technical Skills & Tools

  • Proficiency in defect management tools like ALM and VersionOne.
  • Experience using browser-based testing tools, particularly Playwright.
  • Familiarity with agile testing workflows and common release requirements.
  • Logging and monitoring via system metrics tools

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Test Engineer must have:
Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited College/University is preferred.
  • Alternative Path: If the candidate does not possess a relevant four-year degree, an additional four years of relevant work experience will be required.

Required Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in Information Technology
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance (manual and automated testing)

Required Technical Skills and Expertise:

  • Familiarity with tools like ALM, VersionOne, and Playwright.
  • Experience designing, executing, and documenting functional test cases.
  • Ability to validate both staging and production environments.
  • Proof of past work performing regression, smoke, and sanity tests.
  • Capability to generate production sign-offs with comprehensive documentation and results.
  • Knowledge of monitoring application logs and system alerts for issue detection.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience transitioning manual test cases to automated suites using Playwright or similar tools.
  • Prior experience with Click-N-Ship or similar postal services/tools.
  • Background in testing web applications that involve complex workflows and integrations.
  • Knowledge of defect-tracking needs, prioritization strategies, and resolution timelines.

Security Clearance Level:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
  • This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $96,569 - $130,651. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
