SOFTWARE ENGINEER PRINCIPAL

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
The Software Engineer shall be responsible for the development, enhancement, and sustainment of automation tools in support of system management infrastructure software and services for High Performance Computing (HPC) systems in a Linux environment. 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Software Engineer Principal must have:
● Education: Bachelor of Science
● Experience: 8+ years of related experience

● Security clearance level: TS/SCI w/polygraph

● Technical Skills Required:

    Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux tools

    Experience developing Bash scripts to automate manual processes

    Recent software development experience using Python

    Experience with automation frameworks including Ansible for orchestrating deployment

    Experience performing troubleshooting and debugging issues in an operational system

    Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI and Jenkins

    Experience with Git Source Control System

● Desired Skills:

    Familiarity with Datacenter Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools such as Netbox

    Familiarity with Observability and Analytics platform solutions such as Splunk
    Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions such as Keycloak  
    Familiarity with Secret Management tools such as HashiCorp Vault
    Familiarity with Message Brokers such as Kafka
    Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker, PodMan, containerd
    Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies
    Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $175,950 - $238,050. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
