Job Description

Network Engineer Senior

Join a team where your expertise directly protects critical missions and makes a national impact. As a Network Engineer Senior, you’ll design, support, and optimize an enterprise-scale network that keeps thousands of users and systems connected, secure, and mission-ready every day.

How You’ll Make an Impact

In this role, you will:
  • Provide day-to-day operational support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for a large-scale Juniper and Cisco switching infrastructure.

  • Use Forward Networks to:
    • Build virtual replicas (“digital twins”) of the production network
    • Simulate and validate SDN code changes before they go live
    • Document and visualize the physical and logical network topology
  • Safeguard network integrity, performance, and security across a distributed environment supporting several hundred thousand endpoints.
  • Monitor and respond to network events and incidents, leading root cause analysis and driving permanent fixes.
  • Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and documentation in line with industry and organizational standards.
  • Ensure alignment with security policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Participate in planning and executing network upgrades, migrations, and performance optimizations.
  • Collaborate closely with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy, proactively identifying, diagnosing, and resolving complex network issues.
