Job Description

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
Serves as AV Engineer multi-networked audio and video teleconferencing and operations networks and systems, to include human/machine interface equipment (HMI). Provides engineering support to VTC and AV systems. This includes activities throughout the life cycle of the system (defining requirements, designing solutions, procurement of equipment, installing systems, and troubleshooting any systems failures). Experience working independently without supervision in a fast-paced military environment is a must. Communicates with senior military leadership clearly and concisely both written and verbally. This position may require local travel with short notice for emergency support and repair efforts as well as travel to other locations for scheduled installation and/or maintenance actions.

Essential Job Functions:

  • High level understanding of how to design, install, diagnose, repair, and test complex AV systems in alignment with AV industry and/or DoW standards.
  • Complete project installation from start to finish in alignment with set schedule
  • Rack construction, pulling/laying cables, prepping equipment in accordance with set site specific DoW or customer standards.
  • Full installation of completed racks, projectors, displays, and related equipment.
  • Read and understand site specific drawings.
  • Complete in-depth test & acceptance with customer upon completion of installation.
  • Complete after-action reports on company specific applications/ programs.
  • Professional and respectful attitude in the face of unforeseen changes and/or events.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Systems Engineer Senior must have:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certification: Applicable DoD 8140 / DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III Certification, Security +, CTS
  • Experience: 5+ years of related experience
  • Technical skills:
    • Experience with Crestron and/or similar AV standards, AV integration, configuration, cable repair, Cisco VTC integration, WebEx, Microsoft Teams, and related.
    • Ability to lift a minimum of 30lbs.
    • Ability to travel in support of Operations.
    • Willingness to learn new technologies and make recommendations.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication.
    • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and related business tools.
  • Preferred skills:
    • Crestron, BiAmp, and QSC programming knowledge/ experience.
    • Prior applicable military/ DoW experience.
    • Visio and CAD design knowledge/ experience.
    • Familiarity with Scrumban process, ADO (Azure Dev. Ops).
  • Security clearance level: TS/SCI
  • US citizenship required

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $114,750 - $155,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
