Job Description

Our work depends on a Technical Writer and Editor joining our team to support Federal Electronic Health Records Modernization (EHRM) program activities. 

At GDIT, we put our people first. As a Technical Writer and Editor supporting the EHRM program, you will be responsible for reviewing and editing project deliverables such as technical documents, proposals, policies, knowledge articles, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) specifically in the areas of 508 compliancy. 

This role is fully remote!

This role requires you to obtain and maintain an in-depth Public Trust Level 5. This investigation will review personal and criminal behavior, financial conduct, foreign influence, as well as other adjudications.

HOW A TECHNICAL WRITER AND EDITOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:  

  • Working on all phases of documentation; assisting in the preparation of documents and supports the development of contract deliverables, proposals, and reports.
  • Review and edit deliverable content for Section 508 accessibility compliance.  
  • Stay up to date on Section 508 standards and best practices. 
  • Writing and editing functional descriptions, user manuals, special reports, or any other customer deliverables or document, conducting research and ensuring the use of proper technical terminology. 
  • Drafts, reviews, and edits project deliverables such as technical documents, policies, knowledge articles, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).  
  • Preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides, manuals, and technical publications. 
  • Preparing reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audiences. 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years' of relevant experience (or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience).
  • Experience with EHR (Electronic Health Records) required.
  • Proposal writing experience is required
  • Experience with 508 technical writing required.
  • Experience editing material for punctuation, grammar, and content.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Knowledge of Federal documentation standards, processes, and 508 compliancy.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the year, if needed.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $73,965 - $96,600. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
