ARMA-Global is currently pursuing a qualified candidate to serve as a RF Communications Engineer to join the Technology Integration and Support Cooperative Tactical Network and Datalinks configuration team to design, develop, test, integrate and train new and emerging capabilities with the Android Tactical Assault Kit and other tactical capabilities.
Responsibilities
As a RF Communications Engineer you will work closely with coworkers, partners, stakeholders and customer representatives to create effective solutions, providing support to organizational Development & Engineering projects to deliver next-generation technologies across a wide-range of services and emerging capabilities. You will integrate new RF/DL configurations into wearable devices that enable Special Tactics operations.
In this role you will:
Follow and implement Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS), National Security Agency (NSA), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and other applicable security guidance
Document and diagram physical and logical architectures, configurations, and applicable settings.
Produce applicable DoWAF architecture viewpoints in accordance with standards
Identify, validate, assess RF networking shortfalls across multiple platforms
Develop measurable test and success criteria
Support testing to measure against success criteria
Document and brief actions and test results in post assessment reviews
Develop Plans of Instructions and Checklists for Operational use.
Provide user training as needed to ensure capability integration
Ensure solutions and activities delivered are aligned with the strategy and vision
Collaborate with teammates on complex problems, and recommend improvements
Assist with deconstruction and interpretation of requirements supporting projects
Engage with stakeholders and supporting teams, and ensure customer expectations, satisfaction, risks, and cost are managed appropriately as it relates to your activities
Adhere to standards, policies, protocols, procedures and best practices that truly embody a "Best of Breed" Development & Engineer services delivery team
Participate in architectural and design discussions as they pertain to Future State, Concepts, and planned or active Development & Engineering projects
Participating in strategic engagements and events, as required
Brief stakeholders on planned and active projects and activities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required:
Highly skilled at RF network analysis and research to identify capacity, performance, architecture, and support constraints and problems
Ability Develop RF network engineering approaches and propose courses of action (COA) to the government
Skilled at development and analysis of RF IP architectures
Ability to assess current operational architectures and configurations to improve operational effectiveness, system performance, efficiency, information security, and configuration management
Experience identifying and documenting applicable standards and best practices
Ability to design, develop, test, and implement suitable RF and network architectures in accordance with applicable Department of Defense (DoD), United States Air Force (USAF), United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC), industry guidance, and best practices.
Specific experience with a majority of the following required:
Standard Airborne BLoS Broadband (AB2) and narrowband (ABN) gateway architectures for voice, video, and C2 IP based services
Standard Airborne LoS Broadband (ALB) and narrowband (ALN) gateway architectures for voice, video, and C2 IP based services
Standard airborne and terrestrial, roll-on, roll-off and permanent, sensor payload, intelligence systems, and communications systems network architectures. This includes sensor, warning, and communications networks and aircraft interface architectures. Examples include systems such as the Joint Threat Warning System (JTWS) Air system, TRICS, SLED, and MANET solutions
Standard aircraft local area network (ALAN), boundary, and external network interface architectures. This includes analyzing and developing standard unclassified and classified networks for AFSOC aircraft
Standard air-to-air and air-to-ground RF network architectures and plans
Standard terrestrial, wireless, and RF base area network (BAN) architectures
Standard deployable terrestrial and RF C2 node architectures
Software defined network for aircraft, ground vehicles, and C2 nodes
Must be able to effectively conduct and interpret tests, and troubleshoot solutions
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to create and maintain systems related documentation
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications
BA/BS or equivalent experience Plus 8+ years providing critical RF transport and network engineering/administration services
5+ years' electronic maintenance in the following areas: Digital/analog signal processing, Communications equipment (VHF, UHF, microwave, fiber-optic), Digital computer systems; Test equipment, RF signal processing, Antennas, RF systems.
DoW 8570.01 IAT level II certification required: Sec+ CE (Desired)
Security Requirements
Must have a SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI (TS/SCI)
Work Environment
Work environment is either remote teleworking or administrative office
Possible TDY's to CONUS and OCONUS environments

U.S. Citizenship Required
The likely salary range for this position is $102,000 - $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
