Our work depends on Systems Administrator joining our team to be a part of a cohesive service desk team that performs all aspects of customer service and maintenance of existing systems to ensure the command is always mission capable.


HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Manages the functionality and efficiency of a physical and virtual servers and workstations running VMware, Microsoft, and Linux operating systems 

  • Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems 

  • Maintains system documentation 

  • Develops and implements backup recovery procedures 

  • Develops and implements application testing strategies and documents results 

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned 

  • Maintains and provides the guidance and troubleshooting for the virtual and physical infrastructure architecture of enclaves within the network boundary 

  • Implements DISA STIGs and IAVM patching for all systems within the network enclave boundary 

  • Participates in special projects as required 

  • Works under very general direction. 

  • Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work may be reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. 

  • Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts.

  • Represents organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects. 


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: AA/AS in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or equivalent work/ military experience. 

  • Required Experience: 3-5 years’ experience 

    • Experience and training with Microsoft Server 2016 or newer to include Active Directory, Radius, DNS and Group Policy 

    • Experience and training with virtual environments (VMware, VRA, Hyper-V, etc.) 

    • Familiar with maintaining and operating Trellix ENS (formerly McAfee Endpoint Security) and Tenable Security Center (ACAS) scans 

    • Familiar with maintaining and operating SQL server 

    • Experienced in applying patches/updates and STIGs 


● Required Technical Skills:

  • MS Windows 7/10 Operating System

  • Microsoft Office 2010 or later

  • Experience with personal computers, terminal, peripheral equipment and associated software repair, installation, configuration and system operation

  • Experience with VPN technologies

  • Experience with virtualization technology (VMware) desired

  • Experience with Cisco Call Manager

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and take initiative in identifying and addressing challenges.

  • Effective communications and listening skills.

Clearance: Current Secret clearance is required to start; must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $76,565 - $92,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
