Job Description

Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world’s most complex technical challenges. We are seeking Security Control Assessor – Functional Lead to join the F-35 JPO program in Arlington, VA.

The F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO) supports development, acquisition, fielding, modernization, and sustainment of the F-35 joint strike fighter. The F-35 JPO Security Directorate provides full spectrum multi-disciplined security support to protect F-35 technology and information across its enterprise and throughout the acquisition and sustainment lifecycle.  This includes providing advice and services for programmatic security measures that deny unauthorized access to F-35 facilities, equipment, and resources, and protect personnel, information, and property from damage and/or loss of technology.

As the Security Control Assessor – Functional Lead you will perform all six steps of the  RMF/JSIG processes, with a focus on Steps 4 and 5, Assessing Security Controls and Authorizing the System. Duties include:

  • Performing research of known threats and threat vectors on variety of classified systems.

  • Review documentation and provide guidance for cleaning and sanitizing multiple devices.

  • Writing sanitization and/or destruction procedures that enable field activities to perform sanitization of media and Low Replaceable Units.

  • Supervision of other SCAs and cybersecurity professionals.  

  • Perform oversight of the development, implementation and evaluation of IS security program policy; special emphasis placed upon integration of existing SAP network infrastructure 

  • Perform assessment of ISs, based upon the Risk Management Framework (RMF) methodology using the (JSIG) 

  • Advise the Information System Owner (ISO), Information Data Owner (IDO), Program Security Officer (PSO), and the Delegated and/or Authorizing Official (DAO/AO) on any assessment and authorization issues.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree; or a Bachelor’s Degree plus 4 years of additional experience will be considered

  • 10+ years of experience in a role as described above with 5 years team leadership or management. 

  • Specialized experience with flag-officer level briefings and senior-level interface

  • Demonstrated knowledge of aircraft programs and systems

  • IAT Level III cert

  • TS with SCI eligibility

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $147,292 - $199,278. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
