GDIT is seeking a strategic, forward‑thinking Strategic Business Development Senior Director to shape and grow our NASA account. This is a high‑impact leadership role supporting one of the most exciting and fast‑evolving federal missions in the country. With NASA embarking on significant enterprise modernization and digital transformation, GDIT is expanding its position and advancing toward prime leadership across the agency.
As a business development senior director, this person will define the NASA account strategy, deepen customer relationships, and lead growth initiatives spanning enterprise IT, digital modernization, and mission services. This leader will partner with technical experts, delivery teams, and corporate growth leaders to position GDIT for major upcoming competitions and long‑term expansion.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
Lead the strategy, growth, and business development efforts for GDIT’s NASA account
Develop and execute a comprehensive account plan aligned to NASA’s enterprise modernization priorities
Build and strengthen customer relationships across NASA centers and directorates
Shape and pursue strategic opportunities, including major enterprise services and digital transformation programs
Lead BD and capture efforts to position GDIT as a prime on key upcoming NASA opportunities
Identify whitespace and emerging mission needs; develop strategies to expand GDIT’s NASA footprint
Partner with technical and delivery teams to align capabilities with customer priorities
Support a small portfolio of ongoing programs while maintaining a primary focus on strategic growth
Represent GDIT at key industry events, conferences, and NASA engagements
Collaborate across a matrixed organization, including transformation, capture, and CTO partners
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science required; advanced degree preferred
Experience: At least 5 years of recent engagement with NASA’s evolving mission, technology priorities, or enterprise initiatives and 15+ years of relevant experience
Established relationships within current NASA leadership, program management or technical communities
Strong understanding of NASA missions, organizational structure, procurement process, and enterprise service needs
Demonstrated success leading federal account growth, shaping strategy, and winning complex IT or mission modernization programs
Proven ability to transform a developing account—ideally moving from sub to prime positions
Strong ability to work in a fast‑paced, highly accountable environment
Self‑starter mindset with the willingness to roll up sleeves and operate with limited layers of support
Experience collaborating with technical leaders and integrating innovation into customer solutions
Technical skills: Must have depth in emerging and advanced technologies in IT Services such as AI, Cyber, Quantum, digital modernization and other advanced technologies
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust required: this role will require you to obtain and maintain a Public Trust and will require you to provide onsite fingerprinting at a designated facility. This investigation may review personal and criminal behavior, financial conduct, foreign influence, as well as other adjudications.

U.S. Citizenship Required
The likely salary range for this position is $215,467 - $279,450. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
