As a Lead Kubernetes Platform Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the Intelligence Community. You will play a crucial role in leading a team in the development and operations of mission critical capabilities directly supporting national security.

  • Lead a team of 10 engineers to deliver new capabilities in cost effective ways
  • Collaborate with the customer and mission partners to innovate new solutions using the latest technologies to meet mission outcomes


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Lead Kubernetes Platform Engineer must have:

  • Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science or related experience or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
  • Experience: 15+ years of related experience
  • Technical skills:
  • Experience designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining multi-tenant Kubernetes platforms.
  • Experience deploying to EKS using Terraform HCL
  • Ability to code in Terraform HCL, Python, and shell script
  • Knows and applies high standards in Infrastructure as Code software engineering. Include responsibility for task breakdown, delegation to team members, troubleshooting and final review of code contributions.
  • Deep knowledge of underlying AWS services, e.g. VPC, RDS, S3, KMS, IAM, ELB) preferably including experience with the differences in Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) regions
  • Experience in Agile systems engineering environments, particularly Kanban and SAFE Agile
  • Experience with X.509 PKI infrastructure
  • Experience with Kubernetes stack implementations such as service mesh (e.g. Istio), Container Network Interface (e.g. Amazon VPC CNI), and Container Storage Interface (e.g. EBS, EFS)
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical guidance, mentorship and coaching to a mixed team of site reliability engineers and software engineers. (Speaks "both languages.")
  • Security clearance level: TS/SCI w/ Polygraph
  • Location: Herndon, VA
  • US citizenship required
  • Role requirements: Demonstrated technical team leadership

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $212,500 - $287,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
