Job Description

Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of a team that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. We are seeking a Network Engineer 5G CORE Lead to join our team in support of the Army TEN-M program.

 

This is a remote position and requires 25% to 50% travel; you must reside within a 50-mile radius of a major airport

 

As the Network Engineer 5G CORE Lead, you:

 

  • Perform installation and deployment of 5G network equipment including core servers, CU/DU hardware, network switches, routers, firewalls, synchronization equipment, GNSS GPS antennas, structured cabling, and associated interconnections.
  • Capture all required system integration details, network interfaces, and existing architecture with a strong focus on the Private 5G core, its capabilities, and its integration within the broader environment.
  • Ensure all network components—spanning wireless, fiber, and supporting technologies—are securely and seamlessly integrated into the existing Army network. Supports planning, architecture development, installation, configuration, operations and maintenance, documentation, and engineering activities related to network services.
  • Collaborate closely with the Design, Implementation, and Cybersecurity teams to ensure smooth, secure, and fully aligned integration across all functional areas.
  • Support equipment staging, rack and stack, power verification, cable management, hardware replacement, software loading, and field troubleshooting activities.
  • Assist with execution of test procedures and system validation activities under direction of engineering staff.

 

Basic Qualifications

 

  • BS/BA Degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • 15+ years of network engineering experience with emphasis on 5G CORE technologies and understanding of the duties as described above
  • 5+ years of technical leadership experience
  • Secret Clearance

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $169,604 - $229,464. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
