ServiceNow Developer SENIOR

Our work depends on a ServiceNow Technical Lead joining our team to analyze design, develop, implement, and support code for our government customer, the United States Postal Service.

   

HOW A ServiceNow Technical Lead WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Act as a technical leader and subject matter expert across all aspects of the ServiceNow platform for USPS Enterprise Technology Services
  • Ensure ServiceNow best practices are implemented and recommend out of the box solutions where appropriate
  • Lead upgrade initiatives and ensure platform currency
  • Ensure proper documentation of ServiceNow solutions according to standards
  • Keep up to date on ServiceNow functionality and make recommendations on how new features can be used to enhance business processes
  • Continuously improve methods and practices to achieve increased quality and value delivery
  • Analyzes systems and procedures to refine their formulation and converts them to programmable formats
  • Writes or updates software specifications
  • Creates logical data models based on functional requirements
  • Performs quality assurance review of specifications for internal and external delivery
  • Troubleshoots and provides technical support and solutions to users
  • Develops analytical tools for use in the design and redesign of systems
  • Analyzes detail systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and reliability characteristics
  • Prepares and updates documentation for new or existing systems
  • Monitors system effectiveness in satisfying user needs
  • May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced analysts.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned
  • Participates in special projects as required

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline; OR the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Required Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience with Software Development Lifecycle
  • 5+ years of experience with ServiceNow platform

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in the following qualifications:
  • Experience with ServiceNow development with knowledge of code best practices
  • Knowledge/experience with functional and technical knowledge of ServiceNow platform and architecture
  • Effective liaison leading technical development teams
  • Knowledge/experience of SDLC practices
  • Strong facilitation skills to effectively lead discussions across multiple groups
  • Oral and written communication skills including presenting to management
  • Knowledge/experience with Agile Methodologies
  • Change Management and Configuration Management (VersionOne, ServiceNow, etc.)
  • Problem/Risk Management
  • MS Office Suite

Security Clearance Level:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
  • This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $97,968 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
