Job Description

Supply Support Activity (SSA) Turn-in Section Lead.POSITION SUMMARYThe Turn-In Section Lead oversees all SWA Theater Retrograde and customer turn-in operations within the Supply Support Activity (SSA) in SWA. This role ensures all incoming retrograde, serviceable, and unserviceable materiel is properly inspected, documented, cleaned, drained, tagged, processed in GCSS-Army, and prepared for movement or disposition in accordance with LOGCAP V work instructions and Army regulatory guidance. The Turn-In Section position leads and trains section personnel, enforces compliance standards, and maintains accuracy, accountability, and audit readiness.HOW A TURN IN SECTION LEAD WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
  • Lead daily operations for receiving retrograde shipments and customer turn-ins.
  • Validate incoming documentation including DD Form 1348-1A, DA Forms 2765-1 and 3161, Clean & Drain statements, TM pages, and serviceability tags.
  • Ensure all turn-in items meet required cleanliness, draining, packaging, banding, palletizing, and protective standards.
  • Supervise segregation and processing of discrepant, unserviceable, or unidentified items.
  • Manage batch-code handling (F, H, A, B, L, sensitive codes).
  • Ensure CIIC-controlled and sensitive materials are properly marked and segregated.
  • Review and approve FOI (Found on Installation) processing and coordinate MIGO requests.
  • Maintain litigation areas for items pending research or SDR submission.
  • Coordinate DEMIL processes requiring mutilation or special handling.
  • Monitor shelf-life issues, packaging conditions, and serviceability compliance.
  • Maintain daily workload logs and weekly/monthly reporting formats according to LOGCAP V WI.
  • Train personnel on GCSS-Army EUM+, safety, documentation accuracy, and handling standards.
  • Ensure turn-in operations remain compliant with AR 710-2, AR 735-5, DA PAM 710-2-2, and theater guidance.
  • Coordinate with FRP, CRSP, supported SSA sections, and customer units.
  • Maintain audit readiness and ensure proper documentation is filed and preserved.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Bachelors an 5+ years of Experience or a HS Diploma or equivalent and 9+ years of experience in Army supply, logistics and material management operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of SSA receiving operations, documentation, and accountability procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of turn-in standards, Clean & Drain compliance, and materiel identification.
  • Proficiency with GCSS-Army including MIGO, PGR/PGI, and EUM+ processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, serviceability standards, and FEDLOG data.
  • Experience supervising warehouse or supply personnel.
  • Knowledge of DEMIL codes, CIIC codes, batch codes, and regulatory handling rules.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in austere, deployed, or extreme-climate environments.
  • Active U.S. Secret clearance (preferred).
  • Valid U.S. passport and ability to meet CRC deployment requirements.
  • Willingness to deploy to all areas within the CENTCOM AO or other assigned Southwest Asia locations.
  • Ability to stand, bend and lift 40 lbs.
CERTIFICATIONS
  • HAZMAT / HAZCOM certification (required or obtainable after hire).
  • Theater-required certifications (AT, OPSEC, Cyber, etc.).
  • Forklift / MHE certification (required or obtain after hire.).
WORKING ENVIRONMENTWork is conducted in warehouse, yard, or outdoor environments with exposure to physical, environmental, and heat-related hazards. Required PPE includes head, hand, foot, torso, respiratory, and vision protection. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, host-nation standards, and applicable Army and company policies. Position may require extended duty hours.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $76,500 - $103,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
