Job Description

Senior Systems Integration Engineer

The Senior Systems Integration Engineer will manage and engineer complex data flows across a diverse ecosystem of devices and platforms. This role leverages Apache NiFi, Python, and modern visualization tools to meet customer data requirements, monitor system health, and ensure seamless data movement across networks. The ideal candidate will thrive in technical problem‑solving, collaborate effectively with engineering teams, and maintain highly detailed documentation of data flow architectures.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and sustain intricate data flows from numerous sources using Apache NiFi.
• Create innovative solutions for complex data manipulation challenges with Python.
• Utilize Apache NiFi and Python to retrieve, transform, and route data originating from remote APIs.
• Modernize legacy Java implementations by converting them into comprehensive Python-based solutions.
• Build Grafana dashboards to display data flow performance metrics and infrastructure status.
• Participate in weekly engineering review board meetings, providing technical insight on internal and customer-driven change requests.
• Assess existing data flows for inefficiencies and implement optimized improvements.
• Design secure cross-domain transfer mechanisms supporting networks with differing security levels.
• Document new and existing data flows using Microsoft Visio.
• Evaluate change request documentation for technical precision and completeness.

Required Qualifications
• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institute in an area applicable to this position and six (6) years of relevant experience.  An additional four (4) years of relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree
• Proficiency with Linux command-line operations.
• Experience in at least one programming language; Python strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Must meet DoD 8570 requirements (IAT Level 2) by security indoctrination, including any required CE certifications.
• Demonstrated capability in producing technical documentation and presenting change requests to leadership.

Desired Qualifications
• Hands-on experience designing and sustaining data flows using Apache NiFi.
• General networking knowledge, including routers, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, subnetting, VPNs, and web proxies.
• Understanding of RESTful API design and usage.
• Proficiency in both Windows and Linux system administration.
• Familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Foundational understanding of Active Directory, including Organizational Units and Security Groups.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $161,500 - $218,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
