Job Description

GDIT is seeking a manual functional Test Engineer to support one of our software delivery projects with a government client. This is a mission-driven program with a smart, engaged team of developers, analysts and testers. This position will increase your skillset with a variety of technical and functional challenges.

The candidate must be local to the Ashburn, VA office

HOW A TEST ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Work with the development team to create test strategies and customized solutions

  • Help collect and develop test data and technical information used for creating test suites

  • Document test strategies and results as needed

  • Engage with complex and data heavy test scenarios  

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Working knowledge of issue/bug tracking tools (such as Jira)

  • Experience with testing web-based/cloud applications

  • Experience writing new test cases and modifying existing ones

  • Experience with writing SQL to query data from databases

  • Ability to collaborate with team members to ensure client needs and expectations are met or exceeded

  • Ability to research problems, identify a root cause, and recommend and implement a solution

  • Aptitude for picking up technology quickly along with a desire to learn and progress

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Demonstrates a passion for solving complex software challenges, and enjoys working alongside fellow team members to make that happen

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2- 3 years of experience in a Java-based development environment, as a tester or other IT related role

  • Experience with creating test plans based on gathered requirements and documenting test results

  • Experience with Agile methodologies

  • Understanding of relational database design

  • Experience working with a government client

  • Work Location: Hybrid Ashburn, VA.

Clearance: Ability to obtain the required government security clearance (CBP Final).

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $81,349 - $80,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
