Job Description

Shape what’s next for mission-critical government projects while shaping what’s next for your engineering career.GDIT is seeking a Network Engineer to help support the JSP ETM-NG program at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.Selected candidate will support Mid-Shift: Tuesday - Saturday (10:00pm – 6:30am).Due to the nature of work this role entails, telecommuting is not allowed and will require full-time onsite supportMeaningful work and personal impact:
  • The Network Engineer will play a crucial role in driving the success of multiple concurrent efforts.
  • Designs, plans, and builds communications networks.
  • Configure routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols.
  • Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements.
  • Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies.
  • Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process.
  • Plans for implementation of enhancements.
  • Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.
  • Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.
  • Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
  • Creates plans and configure systems for data communication networks.
  • Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Designs and builds the hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.
  • Provides guidance and leadership to less-experienced network personnel.
What you’ll need to succeed (Required):
Bring your program management expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Network Engineer must have:
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree.  An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in leu of degree.
  • Experience: 2+ years of related experience.
  • Security clearance level: Active Top Secret required with the ability to obtain SCI.
  • Certifications: Current IAT Level II certification required.  In addition, candidate must possess a current Networking Certification to include Brocade, Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), Juniper (JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP), or Aruba.
  • Role requirements: Hands-on experience/knowledge with Aruba networking systems required.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $72,250 - $97,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
