Job Description

As a Network Infrastructure Task Lead you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Work depends on your ability to oversee the day-to-day availability, performance, and health of multiple enterprise networks, ensuring services remain reliable, secure, and responsive to mission requirements. This includes proactively monitoring network infrastructure and critical services, identifying performance degradation and outages, coordinating Tier 1-3 troubleshooting and escalation, managing operational priorities, tracking incidents through resolution, and ensuring established SLAs, availability targets, and performance standards are consistently achieved for the USCENTCOM Information Technology Services (CITS) Program supporting the USCENTCOM J6 in Tampa, FL. 

 
HOW A NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE TASK LEAD WILL MAKE AN IMPACT 

  • Oversee day-to-day network operation and availability of LAN, WAN, data center, remote-access and supporting network infrastructures. 

  • Lead analysis and resolution to complex network issues using telemetry, logs, packet captures, flow analysis, performance monitoring and vendor diagnostic tools. 

  • Analyze utilization, latency, packet loss, availability, bandwidth, capacity trends, and proactively address emerging performance or scalability constraints. 

  • Establish priorities, assign technical resources, monitor ticket and problem queues, enforce escalation procedures, track SLAs/KPIs and ensure effective Tier 1/ Tier 2 / Tier 3 coordination. 

  • Ensure network changes, upgrades, configurations and maintenance activities follow approved standards, testing, documentation, rollback, and change-control processes. 

  • Maintain secure networks through firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, identity-controlled access encryption and Zero Trust principals. 

  • Oversee routing, switching, VLANs, VRFs, VPNs, network segmentation, and traffic-engineering capabilities to maintain controlled communications. 

  • Maintain continuous visibility into network health, availability, utilization, faults, security events, capacity and service degradation. 

  • Coordinate response to outages and service degradation, establish technical priorities, manage escalation, conduct root-cause-analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. 

  • Ensure network diagrams, configuration, inventories, SOPs, technical baselines, change records, and compliance documentation remains accurate and current. 

  • Coordinate across Cybersecurity, Systems, Services, Unified Communications, Service Desk, FMV, Vendors, and Leadership to align network operations with organizational priorities. 

  • Provide oversight to all technology refreshes, deployment migrations, new capabilities, system integrations, infrastructure modernization while minimizing operational risk. 

 
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience 

  • Required Technical Skills: Applicable DoW 8140 or DoW 8570 Certification 

  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI 

  • Required Skills and Abilities:  

  • Strong communication skills. 

  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and take on additional responsibilities over time. 

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN technologies, network protocols, and familiarity with network hardware. 

  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on troubleshooting and diagnosing network issues. 

  • Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and professionally with non-technical staff. 

  • Respond to escalated user inquiries and issues related to network connectivity, performing basic diagnostics, and escalating more complex issues as needed. 

  • Work closely with peers, and other departments to ensure seamless network operations and assist with ongoing projects/tasks. 

  • Ability to work weekends and evening hours as needed. 

Preferred Skills:  

  • Associate’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field. 

  • Cisco Certified CCNA, CCNP 

  • Experience with USCENTCOM and familiarity with its mission. 

  • Knowledge and familiarity with USCENTCOM’s IT environment.

  • Location: Onsite-Tampa, FL

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $129,200 - $174,800. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
