Job Description

Required experience / skills:

  • Five (5) plus years of relevant containerization experience with major federal IT applications.
  • Expert-level experience building secure Docker images running either Java-based or PHP-based applications.
  • Experience building Docker images running Linux and Windows operating systems, developer tools, or databases such as MySQL, Redis, or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience deploying containerized applications using package managers such as Helm to Kubernetes platforms running on-premises or in government clouds such as Azure, AWS, Google, and Oracle.
  • Must have solid experience managing Linux operating systems such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • Experience creating build and deploy pipelines with Kubernetes-native tools like Tekton or GitLab CI/CD on OpenShift or other Kubernetes platforms.
  • Experience debugging production applications using a combination of operating system (Linux) log files, enterprise logging systems (such as Splunk), database queries in SQL, and application testing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency providing both high-level (management-focused) and low-level (technical-focused) documentation and presentations.
  • Demonstrated excellent listening and communication skills when collaborating with customers and other technical teams.

Desired experience / skills

  • Experience with tools for static code analysis (such as HP Fortify), dependency vulnerability (such as BlackDuck or JFrog X-Ray), package repositories (such as Artifactory), and performance testing tools (such as JMeter).
  • Operations or programming experience supporting custom-build Java and/or PHP applications in production.
  • Experience with automating deployments on virtual machines (VMs) with Ansible.
  • Experience with federal government IT security standards.

Required Education and Experience:

BA/BS with 13+ years of directly related IT experience (or MA/MS with 10+ years of directly related IT experience).

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $116,025 - $156,975. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
