Join GDIT and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. The CDAO Advana team is seeking an Telemetry Data Engineer to join their efforts in the DC area.
Advana is the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office’s (CDAO) enterprise-wide, multi-domain data, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) platform that provides all DoD military and civilian decision makers, analysts, and builders with unprecedented access to enterprise data, tools, and capabilities.

Duties include:
Designs and operates telemetry data flows for Advana artificial intelligence and machine learning model serving across Unclassified and NIPRNet, Secret and SIPRNet, and Top Secret and JWICS enclaves supporting Combatant Commands, Joint Staff directorates, Senior Executive Service leaders, and CDAO mission teams.
Shapes and normalizes telemetry payloads from serving application programming interfaces, reverse proxies, model runtimes, and data services into structured streams consumable by monitoring and analytics platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Splunk, and cloud-native observability services.
Implements schema management, serialization formats, and field naming conventions for latency, error, throughput, and model performance indicators to create consistent telemetry across Kubernetes clusters, container platforms, and Advana microservices.
Builds routing and transformation logic using technologies such as Apache Kafka, Kinesis, or similar message queues to move telemetry reliably into long-term analytic stores and mission dashboards.
Collaborates with model serving engineers, DevSecOps pipeline personnel, and cybersecurity analysts to embed telemetry hooks into deployment templates, runtime configurations, and automated test stages supporting mission assurance and rapid incident triage.
Develops and maintains operational dashboards, data quality checks, anomaly detection rules, and runbooks that support watch floor operations, incident response cells, and Engineering Control Board reviews.
Produces data flow diagrams, telemetry interface specifications, and configuration documentation that strengthen observability, support cross-domain promotions, and advance Advana enterprise reliability and decision advantage.

U.S. Citizenship Required
The likely salary range for this position is $111,155 - $150,385. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
