GDIT is seeking a Network Engineer Senior Principal to help support our Space Force program.

The Network Engineer Senior Principal will make an impact by:
Designs, plans, builds, and maintains complex communications networks.
Configures routers and switches, encryptors, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols.
Configure COMSEC Equipment and supports the remote management of COMSEC equipment through DoW approved solutions.
Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements in accordance with NIAP and NCDSMO approved devices and technologies.
Responsible for monitoring the network by utilizing and introducing industry leading technologies.
Provides innovative methods and technical solutions, to meet customer driven requirements, using the engineering design process.
Works with the Engineering team to design, plan, and implement approved solutions and enhancements.
Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions.
Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.
Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.
Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks.
Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
Maintains and obtains knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Designs and builds the hardware/software components for telecommunications networks.
Provides guidance to leadership and coordinates and directs activities of less-experienced network personnel.
Familiar and capable of supporting RMF 800-53 Rev 5 compliance by contributing to NIST System Security Plans (SSPs), Basis of Estimate (BoE) documentation, Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) activities, and Assessment and Authorization (A&A) requirements across classified networks.
Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, cross-domain solutions, remote access systems, and networks. Be well versed in a multi-vendor environment for layer 2/3 switching and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, etc.), Network management solutions, as well as virtual and cloud-hosted networking technologies.
Required Skills:
Active DOW Secret Clearance
BA/BS, 10+ years' experience years of experience in Network Administration
IAT Level II certification
Hybrid, onsite 3 days a week, or as required to meet mission requirements
Experience designing and defining network architecture for new or existing computer systems
Experience with cloud/server/network/storage implementation and support
Experience with VMware and Nutanix implementation and support
5+ years’ experience maintaining ATO approved and implemented Cross-Domain Raise the Bar Solutions in a classified environment
Due to the nature of work this role entails up to 25% travel
Desired Skills:
Experience working with DOW Government customers
Experience working in Agile teams
Experience / familiarization of cloud environments, virtual routing, virtual switching, and IPSec tunneling.
Cisco Networking Certifications
Experience maintaining up-to-date documentation, and prepares documentation for infrastructure changes

U.S. Citizenship Required
The likely salary range for this position is $144,500 - $195,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
