Job Description

This is a pipelining requisition for future opportunities.

Field Service Representative (FSR)

Location: Southwest Asia (SWA) | Clearance: Active U.S. Secret | Work Schedule: Extended (up to 84 hrs/week)

Make an impact. GDIT has exciting opportunities for Field Service Representatives supporting mission‑critical programs installing, sustaining, and training on tactical electronics and C5ISR system to help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter for the Warfighter.

What You’ll Do

Systems Installation & Integration

  • Install, configure, and test Boomerang gunfire detection systems on tactical platforms (e.g., Humvees, Strykers, MRAPs).
  • Integrate and sustain EUGS and related battlefield sensor suites; support PILAR or similar gunfire localization systems.
  • Execute field wiring, cabling, mounting, alignment, and platform‑specific integration; perform firmware updates and system hardening.
  • Support secure communications integration and COMSEC handling in accordance with policy.

Sustainment, Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Perform PMCS and corrective maintenance on sensors, microphones, control modules, towers, and payloads.
  • Conduct diagnostics, isolate faults, replace components, and execute return‑to‑service checks.
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams/schematics; perform board‑level repairs as authorized.
  • Track and update work orders, parts, and serial numbers using COLTS (or similar systems like RCLS) and operate within GCSS‑Army workflows.
  • Perform minor generator maintenance (oil/filter changes) and basic power/grounding checks.

Training & Customer Engagement

  • Train military personnel on system operation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance best practices.
  • Provide onsite subject‑matter expertise; document procedures, produce reports, and communicate status to leads and stakeholders.
  • Professionally interface with customers and peers; demonstrate strong customer service and clear written/verbal communication.

Site Surveys, Logistics & Compliance

  • Conduct site surveys to determine system placement and coverage; assist with equipping/issue, installation, de‑installation, packing, wrapping, shipping, and replacement actions.
  • Update databases and maintain accountability of equipment.
  • Adhere to Import/Export (ITAR/EXIM) compliance requirements and contract‑specified PPE usage.

Deployment & Travel

  • Provide sustainment across AFRICOM and CENTCOM AORs; travel via military/commercial conveyances to outlying locations.
  • Support extended 84‑hour work weeks as mission requires; operate in austere, expeditionary environments with seasonal extremes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Active U.S. Secret clearance, U.S. citizenship, valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • U.S. passport with 2+ years validity and 4 consecutive blank pages for visas.
  • Ability to meet CRC medical/deployment requirements and contractual PPE standards.
  • Hands‑on experience with field installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic and RF‑based systems.
  • Proficiency reading schematics/technical diagrams; use of hardware/software diagnostic tools.
  • Working knowledge of COMSEC protocols and secure communications integration.
  • Experience updating and tracking work orders in COLTS/RCLS and operating in GCSS‑Army.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (PowerPoint, Excel, Word); ability to produce clear data and reports.
  • Strong organization, analytical skills, attention to detail; able to work both independently and in a team.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Lift 50 lbs; climb ladders/towers; kneel, squat, bend, stand; work around vibration and hazards.
  • Color definition, depth perception, field of vision sufficient for inspections and alignments.
  • Operate in non‑climate‑controlled environments; tolerate high noise levels; indoor/outdoor work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Operational familiarity with Boomerang, PILAR, or similar gunfire detection/localization systems; Land Warrior integration experience a plus.
  • Experience with Force Protection/Elevated Sensors such as BETSS‑C suite (FPS, RDISS, Cerberus), RAID towers, Aerostats, Radar, FLIR Star Safire, PTP radios, television and other communications/surveillance components.
  • Prior military service (U.S. Army/USMC/SOF) in C5ISR, communications, or combat support roles.
  • IT networking and network security background.
  • 8570 certifications desired (e.g., Security+).
  • BETSS‑C/RAID Tower training/certifications (Current BETSS‑C Certificate) and Tower/Restring certifications are strongly preferred.

Education & Experience

  • BA/BS with 5–8 years of relevant experience;
    or AA/AS + 3–5 years;
    or HS + 4–10 years (additional, current technical certifications may be considered in lieu of degree per contract/leadership approval).

Work Schedule & Location

  • Full‑time, on customer site in Southwest Asia; commonly 12 hours/day, 7 days/week (up to 84 hours/week) per mission requirements.
  • CONUS training may be required prior to deployment.
  • Travel throughout Southwest Asia and potentially AFRICOM/CENTCOM AORs as needed.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $72,877 - $98,599. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
