Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Technical Project Manager / Technical Lead to support a federal client in the Washington, D.C. area. This role requires deep AI and cloud expertise and serves as the overall technical delivery lead for the program.

HOW A TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER / TECHNICAL LEAD WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

• Apply mastery-level expertise integrating multi-cloud environments or multi-cloud solutions to meet business requirements
• Provide expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to technical and non‑technical audiences on critical issues
• Use creative thinking to develop strategies and apply new approaches to previously unsolvable problems
• Make technical recommendations that significantly influence key agency policies and programs
• Lead big data operational execution and delivery
• Apply hands-on technical experience with Data Warehouse, Business Objects, AWS, and Snowflake
• Support hybrid cloud environments with practical engineering leadership
• Lead cloud migration activities and AWS data service operations including AWS Glue, Athena, and Lake Formation
• Administer the Data Blending (Alteryx) tool
• Apply experience with Agile, Scrum, Lean, DevOps, Kanban, XP, Spiral, and RAD methodologies
• Apply expert-level big data principles to select efficient hardware, software, and analytical approaches
• Direct all phases of programs from inception through completion
• Manage cost, schedule, and technical performance for programs or major subsystems
• Participate in contract negotiations and contract modifications
• Ensure achievement of contractual performance metrics including SLAs, KPIs, and OPIs
• Establish design concepts, criteria, and engineering activities for research, development, integration, and testing
• Direct technical and administrative staff assigned to the program
• Serve as senior business leader, determining customer needs, shaping acquisition strategies, coordinating technical solutions, and positioning GDIT to deliver best-in-class services
• Conduct planning activities and provide recommendations to clients on workload distribution
• Manage program risk tracking processes
• Interact with vendors, partner agencies, client staff, and key stakeholders

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Required Education:
• BA / BS degree required

Required Experience:
• 10+ years of experience overseeing data management and analytics programs or tasks
• Experience supporting AWS Cloud, Big Data, and Managed Services

• Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Current CompTIA Cloud+ certification

• Previous experience supporting U.S. Government federal agencies is required

Location:
This is a hybrid role that requires 3 days per week at the client site in Southwest Washington, D.C.

Clearance:
Candidates must be eligible to obtain a federal security clearance

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $96,569 - $130,651. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
