Job Description

Seize your opportunity to make a personal impact as the Assistant Task Order Manager (ATOM) to the US Army National Guard Headquarters at Arlington, VA. The program delivers the ARNG training on individual, leader, battle staff, and simulation-driven collective Mission Command (MC) training technical, exercise, simulation, and organizational support in all 50 states and 4 territories.

This position, as part of the Contractor PMO, has the corporate decision-making authority to respond effectively and rapidly to TO requirements.

How you will make an impact:

  • This is a Key Position reporting to the Program Manager (Task Order Manager – TOM)
  • You will be the primary supervisor for the PMO staff (9 employees).  Secondary supervisor for six MTCs (6 site managers) and the TO national support assets (approximately 32 employees).
  • You will have corporate decision-making authority to respond effectively and rapidly to Task Order requirements.
  • You are the alternate point of contact with the MCTSP PM for all technical requirements in the program and the supervisor for contractor employees assigned to this effort.
  • You will advise the TOM on all aspects of the Task Order and you are also the primary supervisor for all PMO staff and will direct the staff to best accomplish Task Order requirements.
  • Duties regularly include timecard management, annual evaluations / merit increase, other personnel actions (recruitment/terminations), security clearance verification, employee educational benefit consideration, field budget estimates, approval of TDY claims, Performance Management Reviews, analysis of contract staff performance, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
  • Anticipate future TO requirements and then provide the vision, guidance, purpose, motivation, direction, and supervision necessary to realize those requirements. Because of the rapid pace of technological advances, decisions are often made in a decentralized environment, and the ideal candidate must be comfortable with this work arrangement.
  • Also, future requirements often include modernization of simulation hardware and software and regular upgrades to C2IS. These requirements ensure MTC equipment and training accurately reflect current Army doctrine and capabilities.
  • Build relationships with ARNG staff, MTC Commanders, and their staff. Increase knowledge and awareness of the MTCs and there capabilities as critical installation training enablers.
  • Ensure accurate scheduling, coordination, planning, preparation, and execution of MC training.
  • Provide for continuous process improvement across the TO (quality assurance and quality control) by developing and executing ISO 9001 related processes and procedures. Through this methodology, we ensure the organization maintains relevancy and effectiveness in delivering the best training products available.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • MS/MA (preferable in management, business administration, or related discipline)
  • Two years experience in management of projects or programs of similar size, scope, and complexity as described above.
  • Three years of experience in managing an office executing a variety of contracts covering multiple functional areas
  • Army experience as an Officer ranked Major or above; or an NCO, CSM/SGM or 1SG; or a CW5 with Senior Service Education Complete
