MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a GDIT Accountant, Senior Principal, you will be responsible for managing the account reconciliation process, including maintenance of the Oracle ARCS automated reconciliation tool, maintaining Financial Services policies, providing audit support to the Financial Services team, and providing support to senior management for special project assignments related to Financial Services operations. The candidate will ensure continuous follow through and on time completion of all tasks to ensure Financial Services goals are met. The candidate should have a strong accounting and reconciliation system background both in theory and in practice with a firm understanding of process controls. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will focus on continuous improvement to successfully monitor Financial Services processes, provide proactive guidance to staff, and seek ways to refine and streamline those processes.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintenance and validation of the Financial Services automated account reconciliation tool to ensure uninterrupted service as well as successful and timely completion of monthly reconciliations by users

  • Facilitate compliance with reconciliation policy through reconciliation reviews, annual risk assessments, feedback to staff, and meetings to resolve identified issues

  • Lead regular status sessions with senior management on outstanding reconciliation issues

  • Maintain and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies and procedures

  • Maintain or develop user procedures, guidelines, and documentation

  • Drive continuous improvement efforts by implementing process improvements, technology driven solutions, and automation

  • Anticipate and understand customer needs and take a proactive approach to meeting those needs in the most timely, efficient and accurate way possible, while managing their expectations in a reasonable and prudent manner

  • Collaborate and/or build relationships with other Finance and Accounting and Company-wide managers to support the overall department and Company goals and objectives

  • Assist in maintenance of departmental Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and related metrics

  • Respond timely to inquiries from Finance and Accounting and Company-wide managers regarding data requests

  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed

  • Provide support for special project requests, including leadership in group meetings

  • Support internal and external audits

  • Perform other duties as assigned


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance or a related business discipline

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with 4 years managing automated account reconciliation processes

  • In lieu of degree, 14 years of relevant experience with 6 years managing automated account reconciliation processes

  • Experience with account reconciliation administration and operations within a government contracting environment

  • Strong audit skills are required

  • Strong managerial, leadership, and project management skills

  • Strong and effective communication, both written and verbal, skills

  • Strong critical thinking and problem resolution skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Must be detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines

  • Must be able to communicate a clear vision of team direction and alignment

  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment and effectively interact with colleagues and Company employees across all functions and levels

  • Must possess strong forward thinking and continuous improvement skills in order to be able to position the organization correctly for future business growth and cost efficiency

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • Must be a US Persons

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

  • Experience with Oracle or other large ERP system

  • Experience with Oracle ARCS

  • Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)

  • Experience with automation and AI tools

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $124,093 - $155,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
