TRAINING SPECIALIST SENIOR - AEGIS Enlisted FCS Instructor at Aegis Training and Readiness Center, Dahlgren VA.

A U.S. Navy Enlisted FCS Instructor is responsible for training, evaluating, and mentoring Navy personnel in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and tactical employment of advanced Fire Control System (FCS) equipment and associated combat-system functions. The instructor develops and delivers technical and operational training, evaluates student performance, maintains qualification standards, and ensures personnel are prepared to safely and effectively operate and maintain complex weapons and fire-control systems in accordance with Navy doctrine, technical manuals, qualification requirements, and command procedures. The position requires advanced technical knowledge, instructional expertise, leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex fire-control, weapons-system, electronics, and combat-system concepts into effective classroom, simulator, laboratory, and hands-on training.

As a Training Specialist Senior, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of ATRC Dahlgren, VA. You will play a crucial role in training FCS technicians.
● Plan, develop, and deliver technical and operational instruction for enlisted personnel assigned to Fire Control System and associated weapons-system functions.

• Conduct classroom, laboratory, simulator, and hands-on training covering FCS operation, system functionality, equipment interfaces, casualty response, troubleshooting, maintenance concepts, and weapons-system integration.
• Evaluate student knowledge and practical performance through written examinations, demonstrations, practical assessments, and qualification events.
• Provide individualized coaching and remediation to personnel who require additional training.
• Maintain accurate training records, qualification documentation, lesson plans, examinations, and student performance records.
• Ensure instruction complies with Navy training standards, command policies, technical publications, and applicable qualification requirements.
• Train personnel to recognize abnormal system conditions, respond appropriately to equipment casualties, and apply established troubleshooting and casualty-control procedures.
• Incorporate operational experience and lessons learned into training programs to improve student readiness and system proficiency.
• Coordinate with instructors, watch teams, technicians, supervisors, and leadership to identify training deficiencies and readiness requirements.
• Maintain currency in applicable radar, combat-system, training, and safety procedures.
• Inspect and maintain training equipment, simulators, instructional materials, and laboratory spaces to ensure they remain safe and operational.
• Mentor junior Sailors and developing technicians in technical proficiency, professional development, watchstanding, and Navy standards.
• Participate in curriculum reviews and recommend improvements based on fleet experience, system updates, student performance, and emerging training requirements.
• Enforce appropriate safety, security, information-protection, and classified-material handling procedures when applicable.
• Support command readiness by ensuring assigned personnel achieve and maintain required technical and operational qualifications.

• Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of USN experience as a Fire Controlmen.
• Experience as a qualified MSS

• Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC): 9502/805A or Navy Additional Qualification Designator (AQD): 2MT

• Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC): V28A or Navy Additional Qualification Designator (AQD): KW2
• Secret clearance is required
• Location: Customer Site; Aegis Training and Readiness Center, Dahlgren VA.
