TEN-M Fiber Lead

Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of a team that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. We are seeking a Fiber Lead to join our team in support of the Army TEN-M program.

This is a remote position but you must be within 50 miles of a major airport as the requirement is 25-50% travel.

The Fiber Lead conducts comprehensive site surveys, develops optimized fiber‑focused designs, and prepares all required technical plans to ensure compliance with DoD and industry standards. The role also oversees fiber installation crews and leads testing of all deployed fiber technologies, including DWDM and ROADM systems.  

• Develops site-specific designs that meet the requirements identified in the PWS; validates site conditions including unique sit topography, power, and environmental requirements.  

• Schedules and coordinates the Site Survey Kick-Off Meeting. Develops and delivers the Test Network Modernization Plan (TNMP) and ensures it complies with ATEC requirements, DoD directives, industry standards, and regulations.  

• Provides a Life-Cycle Plan (LCP) that ensures all installed components of the solution are covered under warranty, maintainable, and supportable.  

• Provides an Acceptance Test Plan to test all fielded fiber equipment including DWDM, ROADM and other fiber technologies. Oversees subcontractor fiber crew deploying underground or aerial fiber. 

Basic Qualifications:

• Education:  AAS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree

• Required Experience:  5+ years of related experience  

• Security Clearance Level:  Active Secret Clearance  

• Location:  Remote 

• Travel: This position requires 25% to 50% travel, and the candidate must reside within a 50-mile radius of a major airport
