Our operations require an Clinical Electronic Health Record (EHR) Informatics Specialist joining our team to support the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Office of Clinical Informatics (OCI) Rapid Informatics Surge Support program. Within this capacity, you will provide critical clinical support to the client facilitating EHR performance recovery and ongoing post go-live operations.
HOW A CLINICAL EHR INFORMATICS SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Characterize, evaluate, and refine clinical processes while developing, implementing, and refining clinical decision support systems.
Lead or participate in the procurement, customization, development, implementation, management, evaluation, and continuous improvement of clinical information systems (e.g., EHR, Clinical Applications, Ancillary Order Entry / Results Reporting, Charting Assessing, Medication Management / eMAR, VSIO, and Protocol / Care Plan Workflow management).
Assess information and knowledge-based needs of healthcare professionals and patients.
Source data to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and business processes.
Use qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to assess the effectiveness of the operations.
Effectively manipulate data to present program status and make recommendations on improving business processes.
Act as an expert role model to promote the understanding, integration, and application of information technology across diverse healthcare settings.
Conduct workflow mapping, assessment, redesign, and implementation support for clinical and operational workflows affected by the Oracle Health Federal EHR deployment.
Evaluate, validate, and refine clinical decision support content, medical terminology updates, knowledge artifacts, and related clinical content to confirm optimal system performance.
Perform risk identification, safety impact assessments, mitigation recommendations, and issue tracking consistent with VHA patient safety standards to resolve workflow issues within strict service level agreements.
Identify and correct data anomalies, support complex reporting requirements, and provide advanced analytics to sustain post go-live operations and clinical research initiatives.
Develop and deliver supplemental educational materials, user readiness assessments, super-user support, and peer-support enablement activities to accelerate adoption and clinical competency.
Serve as the bridge between clinical care and information technology, leading caregivers throughout the care continuum across the full life cycle of clinical technology projects.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree required.
Experience working in clinical informatics or a clinical setting with health IT experience.
Knowledge of Veteran's Health Administration workflows.
Proven capability in requirements elicitation, clinical decision support system refinement, and workflow optimization within complex healthcare delivery environments.
Extensive knowledge of Oracle Health platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Direct experience with Oracle Health systems enterprise-wide EHR deployments.
Demonstrated expertise in public health data structures, syndromic health monitoring, medical surveillance workflows, and standard medical terminology implementation.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the year, if needed.
SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance.

The likely salary range for this position is $99,025 - $133,975. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
