SYSTEMS ENGINEER (Help Desk)

Deliver simple solutions to complex problems as a Systems Engineer (Help Desk) with GDIT at the Joint Multinational Simulation Center - Indo Pacific (JMSC-IP), the Pacific's premier simulation complex. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:

  • Troubleshoots complex, hardware, software and network issues
  • Performs software deployments, patching and updates
  • Participates in infrastructure upgrades and migrations
  • Supports the implementation, operation, and sustainment of system security protections for training and simulation systems
  • Performs hands on configuration, troubleshooting, documentation, and change support for network and boundary components in a controlled environment
  • Performs scheduled maintenance and systems upgrades
  • Supports audits, inspections, and vulnerability remediation activities
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned 
  • Participates in special projects as required

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: AS/AA in Information Technology or Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience
  • Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience; military and MTC experience preferred
  • Required Technical Skills:
    • Provides systems engineering support for the design, integration, operation, and sustainment of enterprise systems
    • Performs ongoing system maintenance and supports system upgrades and migrations
    • Resolve issues involving Active Directory, permissions, group policies
    • Strong understanding of RMF, boundary relevant STIGS, and cybersecurity compliance
    • Working knowledge of firewall rules, traffic filtering, and access control
    • Working knowledge of configuration and management of core switches, remote nodes, and diverse communications hardware within controlled environments
  • Certification: SEC+ is required; Network+ or CCNA will be considered
  • Security Clearance Level: MUST be able to obtain Interim / Secret Clearance within 6 months of hire
  • Required Skills and Abilities:
    • Must meet DoD 8570 IAM I certification
    • Superb communication skills
    • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to escalate appropriately
    • Must be able to perform with minimal guidance
  • Location: On Customer Site/moderate travel to other customer sites throughout Pacific AoR

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $81,349 - $93,610. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
