Transform technology into opportunity as a Technical Project Manager at GDIT. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in formal project management methodologies and a distinct focus on process discipline and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will possess a hybrid skill set of project management and business analysis, with proven experience managing projects based on the quality and completion of work products. This is a senior role responsible for ensuring project execution is aligned with established processes and that all deliverables meet rigorous quality standards. The position serves as a primary interface with government stakeholders and requires authoritative communication on project status, schedule, and risk.
The F-35 Lightning II Program is the DoWs focal point for defining affordable next generation strike aircraft weapon systems for the Navy, Air Force, Marines, and our allies. The F-35 will bring cutting-edge technologies to the battlespace of the future. The JSFs advanced airframe, autonomic logistics, avionics, propulsion systems, stealth, and firepower will ensure that the F-35 is the most affordable, lethal, supportable and survivable aircraft ever to be used by so many warfighters across the globe.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:
As a Technical Project Manager, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our Cybersecurity team on the F-35 Lightning II Program.
Applies structured analysis to deconstruct complex IT problems, define clear project objectives, and validate that proposed solutions are both logical and effective
Ensure traceability from project objectives through to deliverables, validating that all work performed directly contributes to the intended outcome and meets all defined requirements.
Develop and manage detailed project schedules in Microsoft Project Professional, utilizing a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) based on defined work products and deliverables.
Implement and enforce quality control gates for all technical work products, verifying that each deliverable meets established quality standards before formal acceptance.
Apply structured analysis techniques to elicit and define project requirements, conduct stakeholder analysis, and ensure alignment between project activities and mission objectives.
Manages the complete lifecycle of action items and risks, from identification and root cause analysis through to final resolution
Serve as a key point of contact for government action officers and representatives, providing clear and accurate reporting on project performance.
Promote a culture of continuous process improvement, applying principles from frameworks such as CMMI to enhance project predictability and repeatability.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Bring your Cyber expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. Our Technical Project Manager must have:
Required Experience: 8 years of project management experience within large and complex enterprise/corporate environments.
Experience in analyzing program/project status and providing documentation to support project/program.
Experience with ITSM based services.
Required Certifications: DoD 8140.03 Work Role (802) IT Project Manager - Basic. Industry Certifications: PMP and ITIL Foundations (ITIL to be achieved within 3 months of hiring).
Education: BS or BA degree. Allowable Substitution: An additional 6 years of experience is required without a BS/BA degree. An additional 4 years of experience is required with an AA/AS degree.
Location: Hybrid – 2 days onsite in Arlington, VA; 3 days remote.
US Citizenship Required.

The likely salary range for this position is $107,744 - $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
