MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As an ORCA Team Lead SME, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the Commander, Naval Surface Forces, Pacific Fleet mission. You will play a crucial role in strengthening shipboard organic repair capability, elevating Sailor proficiency, and ensuring ships are better prepared to maintain, troubleshoot, and restore critical equipment without external support.

● Lead/Manage/Support assessment teams in planning, coordinating, and conducting shipboard Organic Repair Capability Assessments and targeted training engagements. Guide Sailors and ship leadership in understanding equipment condition, improving repair skills, and enhancing their ability to self-sustain during fleet operations.

● Collaborate with ship crews, maintenance personnel, and fleet readiness stakeholders to gather feedback, evaluate equipment configuration accuracy, and ensure assessment findings support command priorities. Work closely with multiple SMEs to deliver consistent, high‑quality evaluations across all assigned platforms.

● Drive improvements in organic repair capability by analyzing equipment discrepancies, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective actions that go beyond surface-level deficiencies. Champion new approaches to training, configuration validation, and readiness reporting to help ships resolve equipment challenges more effectively.

● Utilize deep expertise in Navy depot‑level processes, shipboard maintenance systems, configuration management, and root‑cause analysis tools to identify training gaps, validate equipment records, and support the development of corrective maintenance strategies. Apply supervisory experience to mentor team members and maintain assessment standards.
