Job Description

We’re seeking a Product Management Analyst with deep, hands-on experience in data analytics, data governance, and data engineering, who can drive value from enterprise data platforms through disciplined Product Ownership and Agile delivery. You’ll own the backlog, translate complex data needs into actionable user stories, partner closely with engineering, and use SQL to validate data, troubleshoot issues, and inform decisions. Experience with Collibra and data quality frameworks is a strong plus.

*This is a remote position, but a preference for candidates in the DMV area*

Product Ownership & Strategy

  • Own the product vision and roadmap for data products (datasets, pipelines, quality rules, and dashboards), ensuring alignment to business outcomes and compliance needs
  • Convert stakeholders’ requirements into epics, features, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria; maintain a transparent, prioritized backlog.
  • Define measurable product metrics (adoption, data quality scores, SLA compliance, performance) and track value realization.

Agile Delivery (Scrum)

  • Run Scrum ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Partner with Scrum Master and Technical Leads to remove impediments, manage scope, and keep delivery predictable.
  • Champion Definition of Ready and Definition of Done, ensuring data products meet quality, governance, and performance standards.

Data Analysis & SQL

  • Write and review SQL to validate datasets across environments;
  • Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to define KPIs, analytical features, and insight-driven use cases.

Data Governance & Collibra

  • Partner with Governance to establish stewardship workflows, standards, naming conventions, certification processes, and data issue resolution.
  • Use Data Catalog (Collibra or similar) to manage metadata, lineage, and data quality rules/scorecards; drive onboarding of governed datasets and monitor quality thresholds

Data Engineering Partnership

  • Work side-by-side with data engineers on ingestion, transformation, and orchestration patterns; ensure scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Provide clear requirements for schema design, partitioning, indexing, and performance optimization; validate outcomes via SQL and acceptance tests

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Lead discovery workshops; synthesize diverse viewpoints into consensus on priorities and release plans.
  • Create crisp artifacts: data dictionaries, business rules, lineage diagrams, workflow maps, and release notes; present progress and insights to business and leadership

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years as a Product Management delivering data-centric products (analytics, governance, engineering)
  • SQL proficiency
  • Proven ability to run Scrum end-to-end and translate complex requirements into actionable user stories with clear acceptance criteria
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to present to clients and collaborate across engineering, governance, and business teams

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Collibra or another Data Catalog tool (metadata, lineage, stewardship, DQ rules and scorecards
  • Exposure to modern data stacks (e.g., AWS/Azure, data lake/warehouse, orchestration tools), and working with data engineers, architects, and analysts
  • Background supporting federal, healthcare, or enterprise-scale data programs

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $85,093 - $88,550. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
