Passive Infrastructure Architect

Our work depends on Passive Infrastructure Architect joining our Joint Service Provider Enterprise Transport Management - Next Gen (DISA J6 ETM - NG) program at the Pentagon, the Mark Center and surrounding Government Buildings within the National Capital Region. Due to the nature of work this role entails, telecommuting is not permitted and will require the employee to report full-time onsite.

Meaningful work and personal impact:

  • Design and implement Passive Infrastructure to support a variety of Information networks. Perform analysis, and planning, including analysis of capacity needs for network infrastructures.
  • Responsible for establishing and enforcing installation standards across the Operations & Projects disciplines.
  • Engages and collaborates with Inside Plant SME’s, Outside Plant SMEs, & other RCDD’s to ensure a consistent design strategy for organization.
  • Interfaces with Low Voltage SUBK partners for Permit requirements.
  • Identifies potential small business entities to partner with for execution of Passive work.  
  • Responsible for maintaining the Inside Plant cable infrastructure to include conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber and all associated elements in the Pentagon, Mark Center, & buildings within the NCR supported by JSP. 
  • Establish JSP and commercial best practice procedures, standards and/or provide Engineering Installation Plans (EIPs) required for installation of cable racks, wiring of the racks and testing required during installation.

What you'll need to succeed - required:

  • Security Clearance Level: Active Secret security clearance
  • Certification: Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification
  • Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree required
  • Experience: 5+ years developing layout and design for technology systems including voice, data, and structured cabling.
  • Strong knowledge of Structured Cabling Systems from an installation and basic design perspective.
  • Candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively to personnel of various expertise levels.
  • Problem analysis and problem solving
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Technical Skills: Must be well versed in BICSI rules, regulations, and standards. Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA, industry standards and other applicable codes related to the design and layout of IT, low voltage, and telecommunications systems. Experience with Microsoft Excel and Vizio.
  • Location: Onsite at the Pentagon - Arlington VA

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $144,500 - $195,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
