The work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USSTRATCOM.  USSTRATCOM is a Combatant Command responsible for strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, and enterprise IT services essential to national security. It oversees Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (JEMSO), Global Strike, and Missile Threat Assessments, working closely with other Combatant Commands, Services, and defense agencies. SCITLS will be a key component that will ensure mission success and the safety of the U.S. and its allies by providing 24/7 IT services and network support for NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, and SAP/SAR environment.

We are seeking an adaptable, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic Data Analyst Associate to join our data governance team. In this role, you will work alongside experienced data scientists and data professionals to support data integrity, monitoring, and analysis across critical enterprise systems. Key Responsibilities:

• Data Quality Analysis: Assist in conducting routine data quality checks, identifying anomalies, missing values, or formatting inconsistencies across key data sets using tools like Microsoft Access, Power BI, or ServiceNow.
• Governance & Documentation: Support the maintenance of data dictionaries, metadata catalogs, and standard data elements to ensure data remains reliable, consistent, and well-documented.
• Monitoring & Reporting: Assist in monitoring data feeds and operational dashboards, helping to flag potential defects before they impact downstream reporting and applications.
• Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with senior engineers and stakeholders to investigate data discrepancies, determine root causes, and recommend / implement practical remediation steps.
• Skill Development: Actively learn and apply data modeling practices, governance frameworks, and data quality tools in a supportive, mission-focused environment.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Basic Qualifications:

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education, training, and 2+ years of hands-on data analysis experience/internships).
• Security Clearance: Active/current Top Secret clearance with eligibility to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
• Foundational Data Skills:
  • Basic familiarity with relational databases, data tables, and structured data concepts.
  • Experience conducting basic data analysis, reporting, or visualization (e.g., coursework or practical use with Power BI, Excel/Access, SQL, or ServiceNow).
  • Foundational interest in data governance, metadata management, or data modeling.
• Certifications (or ability to earn upon hire):
  • Ability to obtain an ITIL Foundation certification within the first 9 months of employment.
  • Ability to obtain an approved baseline DoW 8570 certification (such as CompTIA Security+, A+, or CND) within a designated timeframe.
