Job Description

Overview:

Joining GDIT will improve outcomes for our veterans. You will support the Department of Veterans Affairs with a veteran-first vision to transform the Veterans' benefits administration with greater visibility into claims processing. The Program Operations Analyst supports the day to day functioning of business operations, focusing on data gathering, process tracking, and basic analysis. Here are the core responsibilities you’ll usually see for this level:

 

Responsibilities:

 

Data & Reporting

  • Collect and organize operational data from various teams or systems.
  • Maintain spreadsheets, dashboards, or reporting tools.
  • Run routine reports to monitor performance metrics (KPIs).


Process Support

  • Assist in documenting workflows, procedures, and process changes.
  • Identify small inefficiencies and propose simple fixes (often under guidance).
  • Help ensure teams are following established processes.

Analysis

  • Perform basic data analysis to spot trends, issues, or opportunities.
  • Help prepare insights for senior analysts or leadership.
  • Support root cause analysis when problems occur.


Cross-Team Coordination

  • Work with peers in operations, finance, Marketing, HR, and project teams to gather information or follow up on tasks.
  • Communicate findings or updates in a clear, structured way.


Systems & Tools

  • Learn and support the use of operations tools (e.g., CRM, ERP, scheduling tools, Workday reports).
  • Help troubleshoot basic data or system issues.


Administrative & Project Support

  • Help track project timelines, deliverables, and documentation.
  • Schedule and deconflict meetings for key personnel.
  • Assist with prepping presentations, process maps, or workflow diagrams.
  • Take notes or document key action items during project meetings.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years of progessive organization change management experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate data or process details into clear, concise summaries for leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing polished presentations, executive-ready briefs, or structured process documentation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines in a fast‑paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Experience coordinating activities across diverse teams and ensuring clear, consistent communication.
  • Advanced proficiency in organizing information using collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, Teams, Miro).
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to producing error-free work products.
  • Experience supporting project managers or senior analysts by maintaining timelines, deliverables, and documentation.
  • Ability to simplify complex processes and communicate them in a structured, user-friendly format.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with digitization technologies, automation tools, and data analytics platforms.
  • Strong meeting facilitation skills, including agenda preparation, capturing decisions, and documenting action items.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $70,658 - $86,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
