Job Description

We are GDIT. We stay at the forefront of innovation to solve complex technical challenges. GDIT is your place. Make it your own by discovering new ways to apply the latest technology and processes. Own your opportunity at GDIT and you’ll be a meaningful part of improving how agencies operate.  Our work depends on a ServiceNow Developer joining our team to design, build, and deploy automation capabilities supporting the federal agencies.

At GDIT, we foster a people-centric environment. As a ServiceNow Developer, you will be trusted to provide development services to design, build, test, and deploy reporting and workflow/automation capabilities, including integrations leveraging the ServiceNow MID Server for infrastructure and directory service automation. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Eliciting and documenting reporting requirements for custom ServiceNow reports (including filters, groupings, visualizations, and schedules) and customer-defined workflows leveraging MID Server.
  • Configuring and building reports and associated dashboards/widgets to present high-visibility platform data.
  • Implementing role-based access controls for report visibility consistent with Customer security requirements.
  • Validating report accuracy against agreed-upon sample data and expected outcomes.
  • Developing and deploying Customer-defined workflows leveraging MID Server to automate infrastructure tasks, such as provisioning Azure Landing Zones and Kubernetes landing zones.
  • Automating user account creation and other prioritized infrastructure automation use cases.
  • Conducting requirements gathering and documenting technical approaches for every automation workflow.
  • Implementing standard operational controls, including approvals, logging, exception handling, and rollback/compensating actions.
  • Adhering to Federal Agency ServiceNow Governance, rules, and best practices.
  • Collaborating with the Federal Agency ServiceNow team to troubleshoot and resolve issues originating at the core platform level.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in ServiceNow development and configuration.
  • Proven experience leveraging the ServiceNow MID Server for integrations and automation.
  • Technical proficiency in designing workflows, Flow Designer, and IntegrationHub.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation (e.g., Cloud provisioning or Directory Services).
  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow Reporting and Dashboard engines.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance and meet agency residency requirements.

Desired Skills:

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS).
  • Experience supporting agencies and opdivs under the Department of Health and Human services (HHS).
  • Knowledge of Azure Landing Zones and Kubernetes infrastructure.
  • Experience implementing automation with robust exception handling and "compensating action" logic.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical automation logic to non-technical audiences.
  • Works well as a team member in a fast-paced and often time-sensitive environment.
