Job Description

INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICE LEAD (ISL)

YOUR IMPACT

Own your opportunity to support national defense. Your work will help keep critical operations secure and connected across the global enterprise directly, contributing to a mission that protects our nation every day.

CIS is growing, and we invite both our experienced incumbents and new team members to be part of what’s next. Incumbents bring invaluable mission insight, while new talent adds fresh ideas and energy. Together, we’ll strengthen continuity and drive the next generation of innovation.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As an Infrastructure Service Lead (ISL) supporting CIS, you play a pivotal role in maintaining the stability, security, and operational readiness of enterprise IT infrastructure across multiple networks and environments. You serve as the first line of technical defense—monitoring critical systems, identifying issues in real time, coordinating rapid response actions, and ensuring essential IT services remain available to users around the globe. Your work drives operational excellence, improves issue resolution, and enhances the overall reliability of enterprise-wide IT services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the primary technical lead for infrastructure services within the IT Operations Center (ITOC), providing 24/7/365 operational oversight and initial incident assessment
  • Monitor and analyze enterprise alerts, alarms, dashboards, and system health indicators to identify issues and coordinate with service lane SMEs and Senior Technical Advisors for timely resolution
  • Act as the central interface between leadership, regional operations, cyber teams, network teams, desk side support, and other service lanes to facilitate coordinated response and communication during events
  • Initiate and lead crisis action teams for critical infrastructure incidents, ensuring rapid escalation, tracking, and documentation
  • Maintain the Common Operating Picture (COP), enterprise monitoring sites, and collaboration dashboards to provide accurate, real-time visibility of infrastructure service health
  • Track planned and emergency maintenance actions impacting infrastructure services and communicate operational impacts to stakeholders

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field, or 12+ years of relevant IT experience in lieu of a degree

  • CLEARANCE: Active TS/SCI clearance with a favorable polygraph

  • Hands-on experience with core infrastructure services (e.g., Active Directory, storage, server compute, web services, network troubleshooting)

  • Ability to operate effectively in a 24/7/365 enterprise operations environment and meet manning requirements

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform initial incident triage and assess root cause indicators
  • Experience working in high tempo operational or network operations center (NOC/ITOC) environments
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple service teams under pressure
  • US citizenship required
  • LOCATION: Onsite
