MAHRS Data Engineer | Active Secret clearance

Your work will help implement the DONs Data Strategy by building, sustaining, and optimizing the Total Force Data Hub and associated data infrastructure within Jupiter, the DON enterprise data environment.

HOW A DATA ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Support the Data Architect with engineering activities to implement and execute the DON and MAHRS Data Strategy, including conceptual modeling, hub development, and data solution execution.
• Provide engineering expertise to develop, implement, and sustain data architecture components and data hub capabilities supporting the Total Force Data Hub and associated hubs in Jupiter.
• Develop engineering and implementation plans for data hubs, data acquisition pipelines, and data modeling solutions that establish the infrastructure needed for data‑driven decision making.
• Support the development and engineering of datasets, data intake processes, and data acquisition workflows for MAHRS data hub activities.
• Engineer, document, and maintain Databricks clusters to ensure alignment with DON rules, guidelines, and configuration standards; maintain cluster specifications for internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in development activities that optimize the HC/HR Data Domain’s alignment with enterprise analytics, reporting, and integration needs.
• Contribute to data structure design, data transformation activities, metadata documentation, and schema modeling that enable high‑quality enterprise data capabilities.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, business, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or data hub/data warehouse development.
  • Three (3) years of experience working with data management tools, enterprise repositories, data modeling tools, data quality solutions, and data mapping tools.
• Required Skills and Abilities
  • Experience developing and engineering data pipelines, datasets, and ingestion processes.
  • Proficiency with Databricks
  • Familiarity with enterprise data modeling, repository architecture, and metadata management.
  • Ability to produce engineering plans and execution documentation aligned with MAHRS and DON standards.
• Required Certifications
  • Current Network+, Security+, or higher meeting DoD CIO Information Assurance (IA) certification requirements.

• Position is contingent upon the Department of the Navy (DON) Security Office receiving favorable background investigation results for the Contractor Labor Associate (CLA) prior to the start date
