GDIT has an immediate opening for an IT Systems Event Manager/Monitor Technician supporting the USCENTCOM CIT program at HQ CENTCOM on MacDill AFB, located in Tampa, Florida.
The IT Systems Event Manager is a critical member of the USCENTCOM Joint Cyberspace Communications Center (JCCC) and serves as the focal point for monitoring and managing events (detectable or discernible) which are significant to the management of the IT Infrastructure or the delivery of IT services that occur within USCENTCOM Enterprise. This Event Management provides 24x7x365 monitoring, management and status reporting of USCENTCOM-managed networks and services. Serves as a single point of contact for communications and information gathering for all network service issues and outages, provides pertinent information on critical updates, maintains detailed reports, and keeps key stakeholders informed. Operate a server maintenance program that provides systems administration, operations and maintenance, and support for all USCENTCOM networks (U.S., allied, and coalition, and of several classification levels), to include servers (physical and virtual), Storage Area Networks (SAN), software applications, firmware, and network security.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Identifies network and service outages, escalates issues to appropriate agencies (to include Core Services, Network Infrastructure, Executive/VIP Communications Teams, Integration Lab, Cyber Operations, Cross-domain Solutions, Security Cooperation Offices/US Embassies, Foreign Military Sales Field Service Representatives), and facilitates the resolution of outages and issues.
Utilizes various network monitoring tools such SolarWinds, Splunk, SCOM, NAGIOS, and Dynatrace to monitor network health
Submits and manages incident tickets in ServiceNow (Information Technology Service Management ticketing system)
Prepares and delivers reports, email notifications, and briefs using various tools and applications, such as MS Office Suite, MAVEN, and SharePoint.
Coordinates and leads restoration of services across the enterprise and different technical disciplines.
Collaborates with subject matter experts and technicians to develop strategies for preventive maintenance, changes to monitoring posture, and changes to event management response procedures.
Monitors server-based change actions for effects to the network and system performance.
Executes Standard, Normal, and Emergency Changes (service interruptions) notification procedures listed in the Forward Schedule of Change SharePoint portal.
Manages digital wall displays with various Monitoring tools and network presentations
Manages Data Center Expert for temperature monitoring
Performs troubleshooting, change, rollbacks or fix actions accordingly.
Researches and resolves user issues through direct contact with customers by telephone and walk-in support.
Monitors Exchange system servers for proper functions, to include Outlook Web access for offsite personnel.
Actively monitors and assures the availability of Virtual Desktop Interfaces so end users can logon to the network with no issues or delays.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of IT systems support experience; OR, High School equivalent and 5+ years of IT systems support experience.
Experience troubleshooting servers (physical and virtual), Storage Area Networks (SAN), software applications, firmware, network security, Systems Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and SolarWinds.
Required cert: 8570 IAT-2 (i.e., CompTIA Security +)
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Project, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel)
Working knowledge with MAVEN, NAGIOS and Dynatrace
Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal
Previous experience at USCENTCOM or the CENTCOM AOR a plus
Must have a current/active Top Secret/SCI Clearance
U.S. citizenship required due to the required TS/SCI clearance
Must be able to work on site at MacDill AFB
DESIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
ITIL Foundation certification preferred or experience with ServiceNow
VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
Systems Center Operations Manager (SCOM) Exam

The likely salary range for this position is $85,093 - $103,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
