Job Description

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR SENIORPOSITION SUMMARY:
The Kuwait Power Generation Shop Lead serves as the senior technical and administrative lead for generator maintenance operations within the TYAD Generator Shop at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. This role ensures all generator repair, overhaul, and sustainment activities are performed in accordance with AR 750-1, applicable Technical Manuals (TMs), federal/DoD regulations, and CECOM/TYAD sustainment standards. The position oversees maintenance, troubleshooting, and full overhaul of power generation equipment ranging from 3 kW to 150 kW supporting U.S. Army units across the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility.
HOW A POWER GENERATION SHOP LEAD WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
• Lead, perform, and verify diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul on tactical and commercial generators (3–150 kW), including engine, electrical, fuel, cooling, and power output systems and HVAC systems.• Ensure all work complies with AR 750-1 maintenance management principles, TM-specified procedures, and CECOM/TYAD sustainment standards.•       Ensure and overall overhauls/rebuilds are performed IAW the National Maintenance Work Requirements (NMWR)• Conduct root-cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring or complex equipment failures; oversee load testing, performance verification, and post-maintenance quality checks.• Supervise generator/ECU mechanics, technicians, and support personnel; assign daily workloads, track work orders, and maintain repair turnaround time (TAT) targets aligned with contract and Army standards.• Manage parts requisitions, service kits, overhaul kits and bench stock to maximize readiness and reduce repair Turn-around-Times.• Provide technical mentorship, on-the-job training (OJT), and performance oversight for shop personnel; enforce safety, environmental, and HAZMAT procedures.• Review and validate maintenance records and work orders (e.g., DA Form 2400 series) in applicable Army systems such as GCSS-Army; ensure accurate fault coding and documentation.• Track shop performance metrics (NMC/PMC recovery rates, repair cycle times, predictive maintenance trends) and prepare status reports and briefings for leadership and customers.• Coordinate with supported units, CECOM representatives, TYAD Forward Repair Activity personnel, and logistics teams to prioritize mission-critical repairs and support field maintenance missions during surge operations.•       Provide input to leaders on employee performance
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance.• High school diploma and 15 years of generator maintenance experience, or a bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience in a military/defense maintenance/logistics environment.• Expert proficiency with Army Technical Manuals (TMs), electrical schematics, diesel engine diagnostics, and generator subsystem repairs.• Demonstrated leadership experience supervising maintenance shops, teams, or sections in a military or contractor setting (CECOM/TYAD/FRA experience highly desirable).• Working knowledge of AR 750-1 and Army maintenance management principles; familiarity with GCSS-Army documentation and reporting.• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to coordinate across military, contractor, and multinational stakeholders.• Valid U.S. passport and ability to meet theater deployment/CRC requirements; willingness to support short-notice tasking across the CENTCOM AOR.• Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs; capable of sustained work in extreme desert environments.
CERTIFICATIONS:• HAZMAT / HAZCOM certification (required or obtainable after hire).• Theater-required certifications (AT Level I, OPSEC, Cyber Awareness).• ASE Certification is a plus.• OEM-specific generator training or manufacturer certifications (preferred).
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:Work is conducted in shop, yard, or outdoor environments with exposure to physical, environmental, and heat-related hazards. Required PPE includes head, hand, foot, torso, respiratory, and vision protection. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, host-nation standards, and applicable Army and company policies. Position may require extended duty hours, after-hours support, and surge operations during mission-critical periods.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $93,662 - $109,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
