Job Description

NETWORK SECURITY ENGINEER

GDIT is seeking qualified candidates for the Mission Training Complex Capabilities Support II (MTCCS II) program.  GDIT delivers individual sustainment through collective Mission Command training, Leadership Training / Development, Warfighter Functions (WFF) training, Delta Training, First Person Simulations (Gaming), and constructive simulations supported training from Squad through Echelon Above Brigade (EAB).  Technical integration between simulation and C4I systems.  Establish /maintain training and exercise networks.  Accomplish Risk Management Framework Certification and Accreditation security and risk management activities.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:

●        Design, plan, implement, and oversee classified and unclassified MTC networks, both WAN and LAN, that support voice, data, and video services for exercises and events

●        Manages MTC integration and use of networks owned and managed by external organizations, including NIPR, SIPR, CENTRIXS, tactical networks, and other networks as required

●        Coordinates network design, requirements, and responsibilities with other MTCs and training sites, training units, and external network and communications organizations

●        Builds and maintains system environments utilizing provided hardware and software, including but not limited to, Cisco routers and switches, VMWare EXSi and Vcenter, REDCOM, Windows Server, RHEL

●        Maintain enterprise level servers to support events and training

●        Responsible for applying system updates and quarterly patches/IAVAs, SRG/STIGS, configuring access control lists, analyzes, tests, and/or modifies network devices, and software programs, to provide pertinent solutions to system users, based on and related to user or system design specifications

●        Monitor network and system performance and perform scheduled backups and recovery testing as necessary

●        Reviews and updates network and systems requirements for accuracy, and compliance with applicable doctrine

●        Monitors and reviews system logs for security audits, and system troubleshooting

●        Participates in special projects as required

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

●        Education: Meet DoD 8570.01-M Baseline Computing Environment (CE) Certification Requirements at Information Assurance Technical Level II (IAT II)

●        Required Experience: minimum of six years’ related experience in network architecture design, implementation, management and system administration; MTC experience preferred

●        Required Skills and Abilities:  

o    Possess advanced knowledge in network planning, troubleshooting, maintenance, hardware and software components

o    Strong understanding of technology integration, information flow, configuration and implementation of LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP, security, storage and backup methodologies, Active Directory, and virtual machines.

o    Must understand and be able to apply Risk Management Framework (RMF) methodology and the Certification & Accreditation process

o    Experience working with Microsoft server platform, RHEL and Cisco routers and switches

o    Experience administering Microsoft SharePoint and Outlook servers

o    Must have experience in applying network and system patches, STIGs and performing other RMF Cybersecurity tasks

 

●        Certification: Security X required

●        Security Clearance Level: Secret clearance is required

●        Location: On Customer Site/moderate travel to other customer sites throughout Pacific AoR

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $81,349 - $93,610. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
