Job Description

USSTRATCOM is a Combatant Command responsible for strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, and enterprise IT services essential to national security. It oversees Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (JEMSO), Global Strike, and Missile Threat Assessments, working closely with other Combatant Commands, Services, and defense agencies. SCITLS will be a key component that will ensure mission success and the safety of the U.S. and its allies by providing 24/7 IT services and network support for NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, and SAP/SAR environment.

As an Oracle Database Administrator Sr Principal, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USSTRATCOM. You will play a crucial role in managing, maintaining, securing, and optimizing our USSTRATCOM's databases, ensuring data is accessible, reliable, and protected.

  • Manage and Support mission critical systems and Oracle databases in a Linux environment to ensure mission continuity and mission success.

  • Collaborate with customers and technical SMEs across the USSTRATCOM Enterprise.

  • Drive modernization and how the team innovates and resolves challenges.

  • Recommend and Utilize tools and techniques that will transform the enterprise.

  • Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Oracle database systems to ensure high performance, security, and availability.

  • Designs and implements database schemas, monitors database health, and performs routine backups and recovery operations to safeguard mission-critical data.

  • Troubleshoots database-related issues, manages user access and permissions, and optimizes queries to enhance system performance.

  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies and industry standards while staying current on updates, patches, and advancements in Oracle technologies.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • ● Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent yrs of experience in lieu of degree)

  • ● Required Experience: 10+ years of related experience

  • ● Required Certifications: ITIL 4 Foundation within 9 months; Cloud+ or SSCP or Security+ or GSEC within 6 months of hire.

  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI-eligible

  • ● Location: Offutt, AFB

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $148,505 - $200,918. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
