Job Description

The Program Support Center (PSC) is designed to provide corporate surveillance on program execution, enterprise data management and standards/policy development and management, and to provide support services to the GDIT program management community to ensure GDIT delivers the highest possible service to our customers while maintaining fiscal and risk management responsibilities to the corporation.  In that context, the Program Execution Senior Director in the GDIT PSC is tasked with ensuring that all service operations are appropriately designed and aligned against corporate expectations and policies, and that a strong cooperative engagement model with the Division program leadership is established.

In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for partnering with division operations leaders to design support services to integrate with division operations.  Service areas include developing systems and processes to capture and report on program execution surveillance data (e.g., performance heatmap, program review tracking and reporting, etc.), conducting program health assessments for our most important programs,  maintaining an approved EVM system and delivering EVM and scheduling services to programs across the company, supporting environmental health and safety reporting and remediation, managing the corporate policy governance process, supporting corporate certifications efforts (CMMI, ISO etc), and fostering our program manager community of interest.  This includes building and communicating policies, procedures, tools, and cross functional collaboration platforms designed to support project managers in the execution of their contracts and the development of their management expertise.

As a Program Execution Sr Director, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission.

  • Provides leadership for strategic decisions in partnership with division and functional senior management related to corporate wide program management initiatives. Works across all Divisions to ensure that resources and objectives are aligned to deliver results.
  • Ensures the appropriate deployment of the Insight tool to allow for automated heatmaps and analysis of performance data across programs tied to metrics aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Encourages technological innovation and process improvement initiatives to enhance quality, cost reduction and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge about market trends in methodologies, tools, etc. relevant to the PSC services to ensure the PSC service offerings remain relevant and aligned to current program management practices.
  • Provides leadership in the design, development, validation and oversight of the implementation of enterprise-wide portfolio, program and project management processes, methodologies, standards, tools and training.
  • Facilitates knowledge management and communities of practice among Program / Project Managers.
  • Communicates portfolio, program and project status to key stakeholders, including but not limited to steering committees and senior executives.
  • Effectively brings the appropriate internal and/or external resources together to form an effective and efficient project team.
  • Provides effective project management and leadership to the initiatives within the PSC.
  • Improves strategy execution by ensuring strategic integration with the PM Council
  • Continues policy standardization & maintenance efforts and support of proposal activities as necessary
  • Provides support, recommendations, and staffing consultations in targeted areas of expertise (EVMS/Scheduling, project management etc.)

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • BA/BS in Business, IT or equivalent relevant experience
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to understand key concepts and communicate effectively with technical staff, business stakeholders and senior management
  • Proven ability to build credibility and strong (internal and external) customer relationships as a trusted advisor who understands their business needs and can balance with organizational strategy
  • Experience as a leader / manager and 10+ years of Information Technology and/or PMO experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in planning, budgeting and project management. Prior experience in another business function would be a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in IT-centric services, including infrastructure, software development, and/or data analytics projects using both agile and waterfall methodologies desired
  • Strong technical skills and demonstrated industry insight
  • Experience leading a team of service-oriented IT professionals in a complex environment
  • Ability to collaborate, build relationships and influence individuals at all levels in a matrix-management environment (as well as external vendors and service providers) to ensure that segregation and overlapping roles are identified and coordinated
  • Ability to demonstrate organizational talent by creating a learning environment that ensures employees realize their highest potential
  • Seasoned professional able to work calmly under pressure and/or challenging conditions
  • Very strong communication management; excellent verbal and written skills
  • Must have executive presence and ability to engage with the very highest level of leadership in the company, including up to and including the President and her team.

  • Location: Hybrid to the Falls Church Headquarters with the expectation to work in the office a minimum of three (3) or more days per week
  • Security clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
  • US Citizenship required

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $187,179 - $230,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
