Job Description

The Transportation Lead provides comprehensive movement control, transportation synchronization, and multimodal distribution support across the USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility. This role integrates Air Coordination Cell operations, container management, convoy coordination, customer service, staging area management, and HAZMAT documentation. The position requires proficiency with IBS-CMM, CMOS, RFID systems, and compliance with DTR 4500.9-R Part II.

Additionally, the role supports operational sustainment, movement control, and distribution activities for the 1st Theater Sustainment Command (1 TSC), including planning, tracking, and coordinating strategic and tactical movement of personnel, cargo, and equipment across air, land, and sea. The position ensures accurate execution of provisioning, inventory, maintenance, repair, and transportation activities while contributing to the refinement of logistics policies and the integration of processes across teams and partner organizations.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
  • Provide leadership to CRSP teams including Line Haul, Air Coordination Cell, Container Processing, Container Fabrication, Customs Clearance, and TAS teams.
  • Verify DD Form 1149, TAC Codes, DODAACs, shipment priority, and POC information.
  • Receive cargo from all transportation modes and process for delivery.
  • Validate manifests, MROs, DD Form 1149, and DD Form 1384.
  • Prepare sensitive cargo documentation including DD Form 1387-2 and DD Form 1907.
  • Coordinate pre-Joint Inspections and Joint Inspections.
  • Build and inspect 463L pallets IAW DTR 4500.9-R Part II.
  • Coordinate with KMOI and MCTs for required movement.
  • Perform pre-JIs to ensure compliance with Air Force regulations.
  • Transport or coordinate transportation to/from APOE/D.
  • Prepare DD Form 1384 TCMD and complete prime/trailer card entries.
  • Conduct export inspections with Military Customs.
  • Compute center of balance and weight for rolling stock.
  • Maintain historical cargo movement data across the AOR.
  • Operate MHE including 4K–100K forklifts and container handlers.
  • Support ocean freight movement through designated SPOE/D.
  • Lead convoy operations ensuring preparation, safety, and accountability.
  • Deliver daily and weekly safety briefings.
  • Support logistics requirements through analysis, planning, and coordination.
  • Manage LIS data including GCSS-Army.
  • Oversee purchasing, transportation, warehousing, and production control.
  • Ensure host-nation compliance for company/contract vehicle documentation.
  • Plan and coordinate logistics, transportation, and customer service activities.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, military, and ISO requirements.
  • Plan, schedule, and track movements across all transportation nodes.
  • Create and manage TMRs using LOADOUT and other LIS tools.
  • Coordinate route, highway, airspace, and customs clearances.
  • Support intermodal operations including distribution, retrograde, and onward movement.
  • Maintain ITV using approved DoD systems.
  • Assist with BBPCT (blocking, bracing, packing, crating, and tie-down).
  • Participate in movement boards and multinational coordination meetings.
  • Ensure documentation compliance per DTR 4500.9-R.
  • Support container management and ensure accurate JCM reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to U.S., USCENTCOM, USARCENT, and 1 TSC policies.
  • Maintain awareness of HAZMAT requirements and ensure certification compliance.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in outdoor, warehouse, and operational environments with potential exposure to physical, chemical, and biological hazards. PPE is required in designated areas. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, host-nation policies, and company safety standards.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

Work requires heavy lifting up to 70 pounds, climbing, stooping, prolonged standing or sitting, and working near hazardous materials or equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma and 9 yrs of experience. (will consider other combinations of education, military, training and experience) Ability to obtain a Kuwait/Host Nation Driver’s License.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of related logistics, transportation, distribution, movement control, or DoD operations experience. Knowledgeable in HAZMAT certification, TMR, and TCMD processing. Experience working in austere environments preferred.
  • Supervisory, leadership, or management experience.
  • Ability to engage with employees and customers with a service-oriented attitude.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, resource allocation, and workflow coordination.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage demanding workloads.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interpret transportation regulations including DTR 4500.9-R.
  • Experience with stock control and asset management.
  • Proficiency with LIS systems including LOADOUT, GCSS-Army, IGC, and JCM.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Valid US and Host Nation driver’s license.
  • Active U.S. SECRET clearance.
  • Valid U.S. passport (minimum 2 years validity, 4 blank pages).
  • Ability to pass CRC requirements and work a 48-hour workweek.
  • Willingness to deploy to Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, or other assigned areas.
CERTIFICATIONS
  • HAZMAT/HAZCOM certification (required or obtainable).
  • Additional theater-required certifications including AT, OPSEC, Cyber, etc.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $72,877 - $98,599. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
